i know what u r goin through i have anxiety too i have taken toprol xl for high blood pressure i stopped taking it because it made me gain weight i am going back on it to see if it helps with my anxiety i didnt know it was prescibed for anxiety until i did some research yes there are alot or side effects i never had any problems before with it i gained some weight i asked the doc she said it could cause weight gain i would rather deal with that than the axiety i will see if it helps.

Having an episode that is lasting 7 months - I normally come out of it in about 3 months...been on different meds - now on wellbutrin and lexapro - how long can this last? I've gone years in between episodes and this one scares me

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionThis episode has lasted about 9 months - took differnet medications but now the Wellbutrin/Lexapro is working - but I want to know if it's going to work ALL the way. I have anxiety and depression. I guess that's hard to treat

Open Panic Attacks
Been taking Lexapro for 13 weeks for panic/depression/anxiety - don't know if it is working

- I still have panic and anxiety and now am taking Toprol on top of everything else I hate this
Open Alcoholism
Have had this eposide of anxiety/depression going on two years. Alcohol made it worse, but I think my depression this time turned me into a full blown alcoholic because before this I drank but not out of control like it is now. Usually a very happy, friendly, good mother and wife but am struggling in all areas right now.

- I am suffering from anxiety and depression. I used to be able to drink 2-3 glasses of wine per night....with this episode that has lasted one year now - I want to drink all the time. I am taking Cymbalta now for two weeks. Tried Lexapro and Effexor that did not work. Is alcohol effecting my recovery?
