Tomorrow the movers come to move the rest of my crap. I moved by myself yesterday for 14 hours. Today, I tried to clear areas in the new place for the stuff that's coming in and - hopefully I'll get my old place a little clearer (to late for cleaner) before the movers come. There's still a bunch of stuff that needs the just be thrown in a box and sorted later.
HOWEVER
I don't have any hot water at the new apartment. On top of that, one of my neighbors has lived there for 27 years and she said she has NEVER had hot water in her kitchen. I'm really freaking out about this. Not to mention, there have been a couple of other neighbors who told me to run the water for 15 minutes and it will get "warm" so there's a massive amound of water usage going on. We pay the bill for water and wastewater (and gas to heat - or not heat - the water) collectively. The landlords pay 25% and the tenants split the rest based on square footage. If 318 other apartments are running their water for 15 minutes every time they want it "warm" that is a ton of wasted water and a huge cost consideration.
I sure hope this gets worked out - and soon. Tomorrow night I'll be living there and I'd really like to be able to take a hot shower. Such big dreams.

Unbelievable! You mean that people just put up with this sort of thing? Is not supplying hot water to an apartment complex even legal? I understand that you would prefer not starting out on the wrong foot and complaining about an issue that obviously is not being addressed. I would surely look into the legality of the no hot water issue, especially since the tenants are responsible for some of the financing. There is no way you should have to pay for a service that is not being met! So aside from the hot water (or lack of) issue, I want to wish you much happiness in your new home.

Wow, I can't imagine putting up with that for 27 hours much less 27 years! I as under the impression that it was ileagle to not provide hot water...that it had to be at a certain germ killing temp for dishwasher/washing machines.
I hope it all gets sorted hon.
Hugs and love.
