    • Close Diverticulitis

Diagnosed with diverculitis in 2004 with hospital admission for iv antibiotics for 1.5 days. Since then have had two flare-ups, both treated with antibiotics at home. Allergic to flagyl, so hospital used cipro/doxycycline combo iv, then 1st flareup used oral cipro, but 2nd flareup this past fall cipro alone not enough, so then took 10 day course of oral cipro/doxy.

      Treatments

      Cipro Somewhat Helpful
worked for 1st and 2nd episodes; 3rd cipro alone not enough
      Doxycycline Working / Worked
Used in 1st episode iv, and in 3rd episode oral along with cipro -- both times worked.
      Ginger Working / Worked
Works VERY well to calm my GI system and keep it functioning normally. I wouldn't be without it now.
