Close Cystic Fibrosis
Hi, I'm 24 with CF, related Diabetes, Gastroparesis, and Sinus Disease. I enjoy life as best I can. I love family, friends, food, and animals! I believe knowledge is power, especially when dealing with CF. I'm also a Christian, and I love the Lord.
Treatments
- Cipro Working / Worked
- I use this often when I'm sick along with Zithromax. It treats my lung & sinus infections. Gives me nausea, but helps the infection.
- Hypertonic Saline Working / Worked
- I LOVE this stuff. It's kept my lung function stable over the last 6 years. I use 7% and plan on using it the rest of my life. Fabulous when used with The Vest.
- Pari PEP Somewhat Helpful
- I used this as a teen. But, it's rather boring & never found myself using it.
- Pulmozyme Not Working
- I tried Pulmozyne before using Hypertonic saline. It made me cough out blood & I saw no improvement in my lungs.
- ThAIRapy Vest Working / Worked
- Wonderful machine! I love mine! I have the new smaller model. I use with Hypertonic Saline for a powerful combo against CF!
- TOBI Working / Worked
- Great when used with Cipro. However, I experienced Vestibular Damage from Tobi/Tobra. I can no longer use it for infections. Vestibular Damage is horrible to live with.
- ADEKs Multivitamin Working / Worked
- I feel much better & heal faster when I take my ADEK vitamins. I'll prob try the AquaAdek or ABDEK soon.
- NovoLog Working / Worked
- Currently taking with meals to control CF diabetes.
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- Currently use as long acting insulin to control fasting glucose & help with post-meal glucose.
- Protonix Working / Worked
- Great with reducing Reflux, and helps with Heartburn. I have Gastroparesis & Protonix is the ONLY drug that helps reduce stomach acid (combined with Pro-Motility meds)
