surgery helped! Mood
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 | A Positive story

today i feel pretty good, surgery seems to have helped.  haven't had those awful headaches, pain, pressure, nausea from pain/pressure, my grip in both hands seems to be much better than before, still have muscle tightness/tension on left side of neck but am told that should ease as time goes on.  i thank God for my health, family, friends and wonderful, cautious physicians that have seen me through all of this!  i wish everyone good health, patience and precious time/memories with your loved ones!!!

Have a great day!

I am glad to hear that everything went well, I re-read over the reports for my CT and xrays of my back, it appears our disc problems are the same ones. so I can totally agree with you, about people having to live with this a life time, without meds I wouldnt make it thru the day, and I cant seem to sleep a whole night in bed with my husband, too much waking and movement, then I have to reposition pillows, what a hassle, I would like to know about the pain you have in the side of you neck though, I have had that since my accident, and it has not gone away, I am thinking it is pinched nerves from the discs. I sleep on that side and if my neck goes out of alignment I have huge problems from that side down my arm. I am a musician in our church so sundays can be very painful. Hope your recovery goes by quickly. Oh I forgot to tell you, I had my pain assessment, and the therapist told me the surgeon I am booked to see is one of the best in the whole BC province. that makes me happy. :)

well, family dr. took me off work until 12/3.  surgeon sending me for ct discogram to see if c6-7 and/or c5-6 disks are the cause of my pain and not being able to stay in upright position for long sometimes 30-60 sometimes a few hours then i have to lie back down for a while until the pressure subsides long enough to get back up.  what i have going on has been rough both physically and emotionally.  i don't know how people cope when they deal with this type of thing everyday for months, years or even a lifetime.  mine has been for about 4 months now and that's rough enough.Foot in mouth

today feeling pretty good. found out this wk not only c6-7 disk herniation which i knew a yr ago but also have bulge at c2-3, moderate bulge c5-6, nerve root compression c6-7 AND to top it off, rheumatoid arthritis.  somehwat relieved though because now i understand why i've had so many problems and the severity of them.  just couldn't understand why i was having the dizzy spells, nausea, headaches, vomiting, unable to hold head up or stand up sometimes for hours. start the duragesic patch this w/end also bumped my anti-inflammatory (indocin) up from 25 mg 2x/day to 50 mg 2x/day, only been a couple days but, it is helping. i have pain today, well, more uncomfortable but alot better than a week ago.
