      bulge @ c2-3, c5-6 & moderat bulge @ c6-7, possible nerve root compression, possible rheumatoid arthritis & scatterd degeneration just below c7, did PT, exercises, home traction, muscle relaxers, pain meds, now on anti-inflammatory, tens unit, duragesic patch, appt to see rheumatologist.....still having ALOT of problems such as pain & the worst dizziness, nause causing spells of vomiting extreme fatigue and unable to leave lying down position for more the 30-60 mins at time during these spells which can last from a few hours to a couple days, missing 3-6 days of work a month

      would you happen to know why this syndrome happens...why does hurting cervicals cause a headache, and why does the headache lead to nausea? I thought only vascular headaches led to nausea..I wonder why because only by knowing that can we know if cortisone in the neck will work! I'd appreciate any of your feedback, and thank you for your response to my post!

      Hey there, have been reading a little of your story, I am real sorry for all your troubles, but I going thru some major back pain in around the mid back area and ruptures in C2 and C5, when my back went out, so did my GERD, way out of control, taking pantoloc bearly helps, and my chest is on fire as well as my skin, neuropathy, I hope that you have gotten things under control, God Bless, Rachel, a friend in pain with you. :)

      I have just read your journal - I have been feeling dizzy too. Not sure whether or not its the drugs, but maybe its a result of our problems (although the dizziness only started a month ago). Barb

      Flexeril Somewhat Helpful
      helps loosen up the muscles a little
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
      Ibuprofen Somewhat Helpful
      Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
      worked but then, for no apparent reason, had major set back and alot of problems since
      Relaxation Working / Worked
      helpful but i have to work to have $ & insurance
      Stretching Somewhat Helpful
      TENS Somewhat Helpful
      does help
    • Close Rheumatoid Arthritis

      36 yr old fem w/herniated disk neck c6-7, surgery not option now. dr. wants to rule out ra, sjrogen's, etc. have to see rheumatologist. did pt, traction, etc. was getting better but last few months have been hell...dizziness, nausea (not so much from pain, seems to occur when pain, extreme fatigue. anti-inflammatory has helped quite a bit but not enough. really didn't think it could be ra in the beginning, now, think dr. may be right.

      Treatments

      Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
      helped for month or so
      TENS Working / Worked
      helps me get thru the day better
      Indocin Working / Worked
      helps but think dosage should be higher
    • Open Chronic Pain

      bulge c5-6 & moderat bulge/herniation@c6-7, possible rheum arthritis & scatterd degeneration just below c7, PT, exercises, home traction, muscle relaxers, pain meds, now on anti-inflam, tens unit, duragesic patch, appt to see rheumatologist...still having ALOT of problems, pain & the worst dizziness, nausea causing spells of vomiting extreme fatigue & unable to leave lying down position for more the 30-60 mins at time during spells which can last from a few hrs to a few days, once for a week!

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
      for a week or so but my muscles get so flared that pulls everything back out
      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
      does help the mood swings i go thru w/pain, i take at night
      Flexeril Working / Worked
      helps relax muscles & great night sleep
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
      relaxing, helps for a few hrs
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
      doesn't really do much for me even the 750 strength
      Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
      did work for me for several mos and i still do the exercises which are helpful
      TENS Somewhat Helpful
      has been helpful but for some reason my muscles still get so tight, that doesn't help enough
