I am 37 years old and I live with my husband and 4 boxers. We have no children, but I might as well with the dogs. I am on disability and miss my career desperately. I love reading in my hammock and playing with my babies. My husband and I are involved with Boxer Rescue and it is a good feeling to be able to help both the dogs and their owners.

p.s. Our boy had the same coloring as your avatar and did THAT all the time - so cute!
Our widow had begun to take over as the alpha as well. I guess they are all the same that way. Perhaps a new alpha arises not just to take their place on top, but to take control and be the caretaker? Our boy got cancer as well and had just turned 8 yrs old. We really should have had him put to sleep 2-3 weeks earlier but we were very selfish and just praying for a miracle - maybe it would go away. I wouldn't hold off that long again. It really just about killed what little was left of us. I worry about the widow because she has begun panting a lot more recently and gets out of breath easily. The boy's was lung cancer, among other spots, by the time we found it.
A puppy is delightful but you're right. SOOOOO much work!
We got the boy to help hubby rehab after a brain injury. If he hadn't been my husbands, I am certain I would have flushed him down the toilet , lol, he was a real troublemaker. After hubby got better a year or so later, he trained the boy and that dog turned out to be the best dog I've ever encountered.
Well, if you ever need a boxer sitter....[grin]
Awwww. So sorry you lost that one. We lost our old boy in March this year and it was/is devastating. We still have his widow (age 6) and she has not been the same. She'd had him by her side her entire life - she was HIS puppy. LOL. Boxers are the most precious dogs I've ever encountered. Our boy was the closest thing to a human dog that we'd ever encountered. Such joy... Hugs!
I saw your post somewhere on Chronic Pain but wanted to remark about your name - BoxerLover. We are too. And when you are a boxer fan, you notice all pictures of them. Too cute! To have FOUR, you must be a sweet person and possess a great sense of humor as well. Ours always kept us in stitches. LOL. Good luck!
Hi,
Thank you for your hug and for believing in me and mum,it means alot to her and myself,i hope you are as well as you can be callum
I have cancer, sarcoidosis, raynards, osteoporosis, kidney stones, fibromyalgia and TMJ. I have intractable pain and chronic fatigue. I have been sick for 20 years although I was able to work until 6 years ago.
I have had melanoma stage 3 and too many basel cell carcinomas to count.
I have had recurrant multiple kidney stones for years and the doctors could not find a reason. Then in 2002 I was diagnosed with Sarcodosis. This disease causes hypercalcemia and kidney stones
I used to teach kick-boxing and one of my students accidently punched me in the jaw. I had bleeding in both jaws and ended up with TMJ. I had a horrid experience with a splint, the muscle spasms were aweful.
I was officially diagnosed in 2002, but back records show that I had it since 1987, but never new. I have involvement in 3 lobes of my lungs with my right middle lobe being collapsed, joints, my skin, kidneys and blood. I have raynards and chronic kidney stones because of sarc. I am on disability and have chronic pain.
My feet started to turn purple and my hands and feet hurt. I got diagnosed with sarcoidosis and that disease caused the raynards.
I was diagnosed with fibro 10 years ago. I have a lot of fatigue and chronic pain.
I had to have an emergency hysterectomy when I was 19 years old. I thought because of family history and my life-style that I did not need to worry about osteoporosis, but my bone density showed tht I do have it pretty bad.
We have had Boxes in our family since I was a baby. We have recently lost one of our "babies" to cancer. I have 4 Boxers currently and one is on borrowed time as she also has cancer. My husband and I are active in Boxer Rescue.
I have DDD and coccxdynia.
After being diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and I prepared for the possibility of dying.
