Good Morning to all my dear friends,

I have been away for a while because work has been extremely busy and I just haven't had the time to get on and write a journal.

I am having surgery this Friday.  Please keep me in your prayers.  It is outpatient and nothing serious but anytime you have to be put under, there is a risk involved.  I have to admit I am just a bit scared.  But hubby will be there with me and that will sustain me and get me through this.

My hip has been bothering me a lot lately.  I haven't been able to take my walk because I can barely get around the house.  I want to try tonight though to walk.  I know it will hurt but I have got to get some exercise.

John's company picnic is this Saturday.  It will depend how I feel after my surgery if we go or not.  The surgeon told me he saw no reason that I shouldn't be able to go.  Now it is just deciding what I am going to take.  They supply the meat and the drinks and we provide everything else.  I am thinking of taking pasta salad.  That is one of John's favorites and something that I can make Friday and put in the fridge instead of running around Saturday morning trying to get it made.  It should be a fun day.

In two weeks we have the annual Redneck picnic at our friend's house.  That should be a really lot of fun.  We missed it the last two years because I was always so sick I couldn't go anywhere.  So this year we are planning on going.  From what I am given to understand, it is a day of laughs and just good old downhome fun.

The middle of August is our family reunion.  My sister will be coming home for that week and I will be on vacation.  I can't wait!!!  We always have a great time at our reunion and it is always great to see everybody.  It will be sad though as well.  None of the older generation will be there this year.  My uncle and aunt are both in homes now and much to sick to attend.  They will really be missed.  I guess it is just a sign that life goes on.

Labor Day we are back at the lake.  I made our reservations when we were there on the 4th of July weekend.  WE just love it there and it is so pretty and relaxing.  This will be our third trip this year.  I finally have it down pat as to what to pack and how to pack it!!!!  Even Ricky likes it there and has become quite at home there.  He knows where he can go to potty and where he can't!!!  We always take him across the road in a big field to do his business when we wre there.

Somewhere with all the running around that we still have planned, we are painting our house inside and out!!!  John is starting the outside this weekend and I may even do our bedroom this weekend depending how I am feeling.  My sister has the curtains made and delivered for in there so I need to get it painted and completed before she comes home again in August.  I am painting it off white and then the curtains and the bedspread are chocolate brown.  I know it sounds really dark but it is really going to be pretty when it is finished.

My office is going to be a shade of yellow.  She is working on the curtains for in there right now.  They are yellowed flowered.  I want my office to be dainty and very womanly!!!  John has his room and I want mine!!!  Since I spend a great deal of time in there, I want it to be very pretty and inviting.

The living room and stairway are going to be a shade of gold.  I also can't wait to get it painted.  It hasn't had anything done to it since we moved in four years ago.  It is more than ready for a makeover.  My sister also made the curtains for in there and they have been up for almost a year so it is time to paint the room to match the curtains!!!!

The last room will be the dining room.  I am still not sure what color I am painting it.  I am thinking seriously of making it cinnamin.  I am thinking with the white crown molding and the white ceiling, it won't be to dark.  It is a pale blue right now.  The curtains in there are a slate blue with a cinnamin piping.  They are also custom made by my sister.  So we will see what happens.

So it looks like I have a very busy summer ahead of me.  On top of all of this work, we are also planning a weekend in Philadelphia sometime in October.  I love making that trip in the fall of the year.  WE have to cross the mountains to go from one end of the state to the other and the scenery is just breath-taking in the fall of the year when the leaves are turning.
