About Me
I was dx in July of 07 with Primary Peritineal Carcinomoa, a from of Ovarian Cancer. I had a hysterectomy in Aug, started chemo in Sept. Finished chemo in Jan. of 08. It is now July of 08, 6 months out of chemo and I am cancer free. I feel great and my hair has grown back. I am trying to eat right and excersise to keep myself healthy. I am back to working part-time.

Interests
My Grandson Christian. My two Pomeranians, TJ and Muffin. I am taking water aeorobics and Yoga. Love them both. The friends I have made here on DS have been invaluable. They have helped my through the most difficult time in my life. Thanks to all of you. I hope I can help some along the way.

Ray of Sunshine
Dear Anita
I`m sending you some Jersey Shore sunshine, as we`ve had it for the past few days...The 4th was great but the river has been packed. I was so happy to have had no boat traffic the past few weeks, now they`re making it for it. Yesterday I had to race/sail from 8AM-1PM the winds were treacherous and we did all we could to keep the small sailboat from flipping over. I saw 6 larger boats flip, which always is unnerving to me. Tomorrow I get on my 5:30AM bus to MSKCC and will have a long day. Hope you had a wonderful 4th and arent`t working too hard. Lots of love,

Close Ovarian Cancer
My actual diagnosis was primary peritineal Carcinoma Stage III. I had a hysterectomey 4 weeks ago. I start my chemo on the 18th. I am 61 years old with two grown children and one beautiful grandchild. I would love to hear from any who has had the same diagnosis and what your treatment was. I am not sure of the name of my chemo but I will have two portals. One intravenous and one in my stomach.
Close Diabetes Type 2
I am 62 years old and I live in Spring TX, right outside of Houston. I have two grown children, both married and one grandchild. I was diagnosed with Type II Thirteen years ago. I became insulin dependent right away. I am on two types of insulin. Novolin N for long acting and the R on a sliding scale. At the end of July '07 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. The steroids they give me with my chemo play havoc with my bood sugar.
Treatments
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- I like this regimin of using two types of insulin, because if I am too high I can take the R on a sliding scale and bring it down right away.
Open Health Care Reform
I was diagnosed back in July 07 with ovarian cancer. I had company paid health insurance at the time, so everything was taken care of. Well now that I am through with chemo and ready to back to work they laid me off, saying that things had gotten very slow and they couldn't afford to pay me so they laid me off. My benifits had run out about two months before, so I had been paying cobra. My last payment to cobra was late so they cancelled me. Now I have no job and no health insurance.
