  Barbara, he was diagnosed in school and in prison. If prison counts as I think there why he is scared to try any meds. I have him in counseling at Lifstream behavioral.
  I am going to make an appointment Monday for him to be properly assessed. I gave him a combination of fish oil,omeagas3-6-9, amino acids, and a multi vitamin yesterday after reading at your group and a few places. He was amazingly focused and more calm and driven today and didn't crash half way through the day for a nap. I am hoping I can keep a journal and find a combination that works for him. Tehy told his parents to take him out of school in 9th grade casue they couldn't teach him.

  I am new today to your group. It seemed buried and I almost missed it andI was looking for just this group. I have a fiance, who has several issues and he has been told he's ADHD,( school and prison) but that's where it ends. I am trying to get him tested and I think it's a tragedy he's fallen thru the cracks, he can't read or write and is dyslexic. Times have come around and I think he would benefit greatly even if I have to build a regime of natural meds for him as I do that for elderly. So here I am and you need a lot of stars cause people don't care they hear all the time and think kids need a good spankin. But Alan is 47 and has been taken advantage of, to the extreme. He can't find work cause he doesn't have access like everyone else.
  I hope to find a lot of info here and support cause sometime I want to just smack him but I know it's the ADHD not him. He down under there is a wonderful person who doesn't understand why he's got it so hard?

  Hi Doc, have you ever tried Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation? Audio-Visual Entrainment?

  I would like to participate in the iSPOTD study. I dont know if I qualify or not. I need to get my records from my PHd. I am not sure if he ever did the testing your asking for.

  Sorry I have not been on here much, but have started my new job at the school(teaching assistant) and its going realy well. I work with two boys one age 7 and the other age 10, they both have dyslexia like me, The 10 year old would not even look at me in the class room, but now he always smiles and says thank you for helping him.The 7 year lod on the other hand still dont want to look at me, but I'm hoping to change that this week for he needs to learn his alpabet and for this he needs a one to one and thats me, so hopefuly he too will get to like me in the same way. I love this job and its made such a difference to the way I see myself, not just dyslexic but knowing I can do some good and pass on my confidence. HUGS JAA
