Hi, the Remicade treatment seems to be working. I've had 6 treatments so far each is 5 weeks apart. No side effects and I am completely off predisone!

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with severe UC in June 2007 and UC related arthritis in January 2008. I'm struggling with what medication to take, (hope to get off medication eventually)and generally how to get better, stay better and move on with my life!
Treatments
- Asacol Working / Worked
- I'm trying it again so we will see if it works. I think it is.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- Avoid spicy foods, white sugar, white flour and caffeine, try to eat lots of vegetables, fruits and organic products.
- Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful
- This made a lot of my hair fall out....I am now off of it and feel exactly the same as I did on it so not sure if it worked or not.
- Azulfidine Not Working
- Made me soooooo nauseous-tried two different times.
- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- Entocort Not Working
- Had horrible migraine headaches from this.
- Flagyl Not Working
- Horrible side effects similar to that of a bad flare-up.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- It relieves most symptoms but has a lot of not fun side effects. I seemed to experience most of them!
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- Remicade Too Soon to Tell
- Start tomorrow so we will see.

I smoked cigarettes from age 11 until I was 31....I finally quit cold turkey on 12-31-04! I'll never go back, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but I am so proud.

- It worked after many attempts to quit.
- Commit Lozenge Not Working
- Didn't work for me.
- Hard Candy Working / Worked
- Used wintergreen lifesavers, ate way too many but they helped!
- Hypnotherapy Working / Worked
- Tried it, worked for about 5 days.
- Nicotine Patch Working / Worked
- Tried twice, the first time I quit for 6 months and the second it just made me anxious and did not work.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- www.smokeawaysupport.com worked wonders for me, there were great people there at the time for support!
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Tried Zyban twice, worked the first time for a couple of months and the second time gave me major anxiety.
