Thanks for your post about methadone for pain relief... there is way too much misinformation and fear amongst people who could otherwise be helped by the use of opioids... and I hadn't heard about methadone being extra effective for neuropathic pain (which I have)... xx

Close Migraine Headaches
I have severe chronic daily headaches that have been very resistant to treatment. I was hostpitalized and I recieved no relief other than dilaudid injections I got while a patient. My life was completely destroyed and no preventatives seemed to help me. My current treatment has given my life back to some degree.
Treatments
- Fiorinol Working / Worked
- Helped for a while then stopped working, used Fiorinal w/ codiene also.
- Imitrex Not Working
- NO triptans helped in the past, they might work now.
- Maxalt Somewhat Helpful
- Maxalt is helping some now, though I used it in the past and it did not help.
- Midrin Not Working
- Relpax Not Working
- Topamax Not Working
- Ive been on this for a long time but I do not think it has done much.
- Zomig Not Working
- None of the triptans worked for me.
- Methadone Working / Worked
- 10mg twice a day. Very helpful has given me my life back.
- Hydromorphone Working / Worked
- 4mg for breakthrough pain.
- Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
- I think this may be helping me, but because I am doing so well right now compare how I was, I don't want to rock the boat. I am on 150mgs twice a day.
Close Chronic Pain
I have chronic daily headache that are very severe and unresponsive to traditional treatment. Other than the meds listed I have been a a whole host of other meds that have not worked.
Treatments
- Hydromorphone Working / Worked
- 4mg for breakthrough pain. In the hospital IV Dilaudid was very effective at treating my pain.
- Lyrica Somewhat Helpful
- 150mgs twice a day. I think it helps some.
- Methadone Working / Worked
- 10mg twice a day.Working Great
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- I'm not sure if this has helped me. 100mg at night.
