I'm a Mom of two boys, ages 25 and 19. They are the light of my life. I have a wonderful man in my life, Shawn...who takes really good care of me! And of course, my golden retriever, Sunshine. We JUST moved back to Florida to help care for Shawn's Mom, who has Parkinsons, and Dementia...I hope I am up for this newest challenge in my life! I am going to be a first time Grandma in March, 2010!! I am so excited!

Aw, thank you, Laurie. :) How are you and yours doing with the recent loss you had told me about? I'm so sorry for that, again, love. It's always such a hard experience. Did you guys get back home okay?

Sorry to read about your Grandpa. It's sad that he had to suffer in his last months. It was good to hear from you. You sure have a lot on your plate.... I agree with you about the BIL. I bet he'd run a mile if he had to do 1/2 of what you're doing. Hang in there and take a little time for you now and again so you don't burn out. I'm finding it hard working full time on the computer, and I miss the support and friendship from here. I just don't get to come online here very often. Take care Laurie.

Close Fibromyalgia
I was dx'd with fibro after 4 years of non-stop testing! I had a major surgery, hysterectomy with complications of infection with e-coli, and staph. This seems to have been my trigger. Surgery was in 2001. I also have IBS, major depression, anxiety/panic attacks, high blood pressure and overweight by about 40 lbs. I try to stay as positive as possible. My favorite saying is: It gets Better!!! and it does...EVENTUALLY!
Treatments
- Cyclobenzaprine Not Working
- Did not help me at all.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Cymbalta seems to help a lot with pain, and depression. Trying to get Dr. to put me back on it.
- Effexor Working / Worked
- Effexor XR works well for my depression, but Cymbalta worked better for depression, anxiety, and pain.! It also has an unwanted sexual side effect :(
- Elavil Somewhat Helpful
- with sleep. No help with anything else.
- Heat Working / Worked
- I have an extra large heat pad, that is my best friend!
- Lyrica Not Working
- I had side effects. Higher pain levels, sleeping too much, dizzy, irritable, agitated state. Dr. took me off this one!
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- I started this after having what felt like nerves on fire, and it works so good for me. I take it 600 mg, 3 times a day. There was a few side effects that went away after 3 days, dull headache, and sleepiness. This is the best I have tried yet. I have been on this since Dec. '07, and its great, only 1 increase in dosage since starting it.
- Stretching Working / Worked
- I usually wake up and before I get out of bed, I stretch my arms up and over my head, flex my legs and feet, and roll my hips from side to side. This seems to loosen me up so I can get out of bed.
- Ultram Working / Worked
- I went off the Tramadol after I figured out it was causing my hot flushes and excessive sweating. I stopped working for me.
- Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
- I take a vitamin supplement called, Nature Made for anti-depressant users. It works very well. My memory and energy have improved since starting it 3 months ago.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- I have been taking xanax for over 14 years for anxiety. I take .5 mg, 3 x a day. Helps especially when I am anxious over my pain levels. It calms my nerves in a matter of minutes, and helps me sleep.

Type: Loss of a ParentI lost my Dad last year, Nov. 2nd, 2007. to lung cancer..he was only 64! We found out how sick he was on a Friday and he was gone by the followwong Thursday..he was suprised, and didn't have enough time left...I am still having SUCH a hard time. I miss my Dad...we were very close even though we didn't always see eye to eye. I was with my Mom at the hospital beside him when he passed away..
