I'm a wife and mum of three beautiful children and a wonderful husband. My life is full. I have many passions, music being the main one. I love to sing. I love to cook.I love people. i moved here to Auz 5 years ago from New Zealand. I have just come back from a wonderful "world trip" with my hubby. It was to celebrate 20 years of marriage. We had a fantastic time. I am truly blessed. I am a CG in recovery and no longer spend my days in active addiction. A good feeling. - Now it is time to give!

Close Gambling Addiction & Recovery
I came to DS a little over a year ago - when I can I was lost and felt like I had no where to turn. I knew one thing - I was a gambler and I wanted to stop. So my journey started. It's been a little rocky and there have been some bumps along the way - but I am in recovery. The last date I gambled was the 7th of May 2008 - a little over 11 1/2 months ago. My life is so much better. I will continue to live it one day at a time and "give it away."
Treatments
- Distancing Working / Worked
- 130 days GF gambled and back on the wagon one day at a time - 10months and counting
- Gamblers Anonymous Working / Worked
- Going to meetings weekly and really finding them helpful. Only started this after last relapse, but find another tool great.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- working I am trying to pour energies wasted into this area - really enjoying the gym and spin sessions. Gets the adrenalin jumping.
- Walking Working / Worked
- have done this in the past as a means of distraction and it did work.
- Willpower Working / Worked
- I believe I need more than willpower to stop gambling - one day at a time works for me
Close Asperger Syndrome
My Beautiul , clever 15 year old boy is affected by Aspergers Syndrome. He was first diagnosed at 6 after being asked by his teacher to "find out what was wrong with him" - the diagnosis was instant. HIs best therapy has been growing up with his siblings especially his brother who is 18 months younger than him, they are best friends. I don't always understand him but love him to pieces, he is our mad professor.
