OK this is the third time in a few weeks that I have gotten sick to my stomach. I don't think it's the flu. I went out one night, ate mexican seafood and drank a wine that I have never heard of. I need to stop drinking, I know, but it was a fun night and I was really stressed. I hardly have fun anymore so I thought I deserved some fun. Now I have been sick for days. My doctor is going to look at my stomach because alcohol and spicy food have literally become poison. I have had acid reflux for quite a while but it's just gotten so bad. My stomach hurts! like hell!!! I am worried becuase my brother died from pancreatic cancer. They also found it in his stomach. Cancer runs in my family. It's probably an ulcer but I hope it's nothing worse. If anyone reads this please pray for me!!! I have got to get some help with the alcohol now. I heard that baclofen helps with craving so I'm looking into it. I hate AA but I can't find anything else. I also have to take so many pills for my other chronic pain. DDD, fibro, sciatica. Then I have to take pills for anxiety, depression and sleep. And I have to take hormones. I feel like I'm screwed. Just add this on to my many illnesses. I hope it's not too late. Some people might wonder why I even want to live with all of this crap but I do. Anyway, I have to go pick up my nausea medicine now. I'll update later.
People tend to forget that alcohol is a drug and it can rip the body apart. If you have stomach problems of any kind alcohol is not something you need to take into your body....just forget it. Especally if you take other medications that can ruin you stomach. Start exercising everyday. Just walk a few miles a day will help with the anxiety, sleeping and depression. Take care of yourself and I hope you find peace.

Lord Jesus, I come to you on behalf of my friend. She is in need of your help but my Lord you already know every need that this precious woman has and I ask that you reach down from your Heaven and touch my friend. Lord, please allow your healing powers to surge through out her body. Lord Jesus, I pray that you will take the taste of alcohol from her mouth and mind, where she will no longer want to partake of it's evilness. Please, allow her to stop drinking without any side effects or withdraws. Dear Lord, I ask that you send one of your mighty angels down to comfort and protect my friend. To be with her during this troubling time. Lord, work through those here on earth to love and to help my dear friend and to find and treat any physical illness she may have. Lord Jesus, we know that through you all things are possible and by the stripes on your back we are healed. Lord, I thank you for the blessings and the healing that is about to take place in my friend Kitties2 life. I thank you Lord for answering my prayer in advance because I know that there's no prayer gone unheard nor is any prayer to small. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit I pray. Amen.

I will pray for you. I know about alcohol all too well. I do find help thru AA and my sponsor but I guess it's not for everybody. You're in my prayers. Hugz.

Hun I am glad that you are talking to you Dr and I think it is a ulcer to. I used to have acid reflex really bad but once I stopped drinking it went away. Hun I know you probally dont want to hear this but if you can stop drinking many of your other problems will start to go away.I know easier said then done but if you try to focus on one day at a time things will get better. I know you dont like AA but sometimes you have to fake it till you make it. if a person really wants to stop drinking they will goto any extremes to find a way to quit. I will be praying and thinking about you hun.

My daughter had a hiatal hernia and she really suffered with that, she was doing fine and then she started drinking a lot of coffee- and bam- she was sick for months and it just felt worse and worse- now she's on nexium and doing good. I just went through a lot of medical issues and every time something came up I'd get all stressed out thinking they'd find cancer- but it wasn't- and now I'm almost perfectly fine. You doctor will figure it out. Alchohol can really mess up a stomach, and your liver, and lots of other things too, I hope you can find the strength to lay off the booze. Take care of yourself, I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry I didn't get a comment in sooner, I took a nap cause I feel like crap too, but different.
Sweet pea I feel for you. You have so much going on and you are taking so many meds, so that could be one thing. My mother inlaw had some serious stomach pain from taking a combination of pills.
Second you know all too well the alcohol can and will make stomach issues worse, if not be the cause. I'm not a Dr., but I can tell you a recent experience of mine. I was drinking my normal amount, which is way too much but not enough to be throwing up in the morning, but I did have several ocassions where I threw up a lot and on several occassions in the past. I started getting really bad pains after I ate food, but not all foods and not all the time. I thought for sure it was gallblatter because my mom, brother, and father all had thiers out. Family history can't be wrong. Well it was. I had a host of tests from the Gastroentronologist (you should see one if you dont already). I had an upper endoscopy and it turned our I had a hyainal (probably spelled wrong) hernia. Not a bad one, but it still didn't explain the nasau and extreme pain till the point I was in a cold sweat and throwing up...Ok long story short, he found no reason for it besides the hernia and gave me nexium and stuff for nausa (I like dramamine better). Right when I was done with the tests I started my alcohol program and I haven't had a attack since. Now I can't be positive what caused it now, but it may have been the hernia intensified by the alcohol. Alcohol will make any problem worse. Please don't see this as a lecture, it's not at all. I just want to tell you my experience and what happened so you don't get too worried. I'm thinking of you and will be here if you need to talk.

Thanks for the request for prayer for you. Try and think that you have just acid reflux and not the worst case scenario. Sometimes we worry so much and it's actually nothing to worry about. I'm sure the mexican seafood had something to do with it and you may just have an ulcer. Whatever it is, please treat it as just an illness. Here's my prayer for you: Dear heavenly father, you are a great and caring God, who cares about all his children. You know how much Kitties2 is suffering. Please enable her to cast all her cares, all her anxieties, all her worries, all her concerns, once and for all, on you. Give her faith because we know where there is faith, there is no worry. Train her mind to think positively that things will turn out well. Teach her to take one step and a time and work on her goals of beating alcohol addiction and all her other concerns.Surround her with you angels, Lord, and bring her peace and strength. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Hi Sweetie,
Hope your feeling better, praying for you always....but heres a thought,i have been sick for 6 weeks now,its not the flu my dr says it is however an airborne virus, that everyone has come in for the same symptoms......allergie/sinus like symptoms, not hungry for 3 days then starving, sick to the stomach back and forth in between all of this, there is no antibiotic for it,dr says plenty of fluids and sleep,advil/tylenol for the aches and pains...................I am just now starting to feel better, except for a few sniffles here and there.....also alcohol of any kind with the meds you are on will mess up your stomach as well.......please be careful and keep us informed.......big hugs and prayers always.

You certainly have my prayers and I hope you feel better soon.

Kitties, there are so many who care about you, you are very lucky. Alcohol can destroy the stomach lining, it doesn't grow back, and the pain is excruciating. The man upstairs is telling you that it's time for a change. It's one day at a time, I know you can do it.
I hope what ever is going on turns out to minor. It's scary to be sick and not know what to do about it. My prayers are with you.

You're on the right track, realizing you need help and medical attention. I know this is stressful, but take a breath. You need a clear head right now. I am of course praying for you, come back and tell us what's going on, okay? Hugs Kittie...

Awww...that is terrible! I know...after having 2 ulcers, and erosions in my esophagus, I quickly learned that there are afew things I CAN NOT have....Alcohol; is first, Orange Juice, and Popcorn (go figure that) and after being in so much freakingf pain, I never wanted to drink again, and the others were easy to give up. But my doctor put me on the Prev-pack (Prevacid, with a dual antibiotic) which made me a little sick at first, because when your tummy already hurts...the thought of taking meds on an empty stomach-YUCK! but I stuck with it, and after 2 months, I was new again, and I stay away from the stomach-offenders, no exceptions. So good luck, sweetie, I will be praying for ya, and if you need to talk, just let me know. Love, Carole

Hon, SO SORRY! :>( Still, you are taking the right road about AA...it's not fun, but as my mom quotes, "There are absolutely no answers in the bottom of a bottle...period."
Alcohol can play hell w/your stomach acid, too...if you have anything else going on, down there, it won't help...sorry.
I do understand about the stress, tho, and you are in a lot of pain, too...baclofen, I found interesting...think I had it confused w/bactrim, which I've taken for bleeding bladder infections...and, yes, have heard good things about baclofen...I do hope it helps you.
Talking can be best, tho...I hope that you find a good counselor/sponsor to help you...your plate is full and you deserve all of the support that you can find! :>) You are in my thoughts and prayers!
