Journal Entry for December 29, 2007 Mood

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a great christmas. I had a nice quiet one with 2 of my boys. The eldest was with his girlfriend. I am almost at the 4 month mark in my quit and I am feeling so so proud of myself. I have had some cravings but they are nothing more than a slight annoyance now lol.

I found out yesterday that I may well have glaucoma. I have to go back to the specialist next thursday and he will tell me for definite then. My Grandmother has it and I am a very strong contender according to the doctor as my eyes are not all that. I also have to have artififcial tears for the rest of my life as I am not producing enough naturally. I had no idea that my eyes were dry lol. I am a little worried as I am don't know what thursday will bring but I am hopeful that it can be controlled if I have got it. I will be reading everything I can on the condition and hopefully that will help.

Love to you all and I hope you have a great New year xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Its a shame you don't have the NHS like we do over here in the UK Janice. I will be thinking of you on your Doctors appointments. I am lucky that my cousin is an optomolgist. When she gets back off of her holidays I will be talking to her about my eyes.

I hope everything goes well with your eyes. I'm a diabetic so I have to get mine checked every year. Thinking about things going wrong with your eyes is scary but I know they are treatments for glaucoma and just about everything else. My mom and dad just had cataracts remove and they're doing very well.
