Hello all-
I am happy to report that I am back in DC after 3 weeks of being on the road. I was in NYC for a week and then I was in Germany for 2 weeks. The trips all went okay - but I seem to be sick now. It sucks. I'm all stuffed up and snotty and tired and rather spacey -so you'll have to cut me some slack if this isn't my most coherent entry. All of this in addition to being preggers of course.
Fortunately the pregnancy part all seems to be going okay. I'm 27 weeks along tomorrow and the baby seems to be doing swimmingly. Or kickingly might be more accurate ;) I've gained about 13 lbs now, which I guess is in the range of normal, but it sure is annoying. It's hard to move around, if I sit on the couch, it's hard to get off of the couch. When I was on the airplane from Germany, I had a hard time getting in and out of my seat. The seat belt barely fit, I had to pee every 20 minutes, not really my best time. Fortunately I don't need to do any more work travel until after the baby is born and I'm done with maternity leave. This is good news if you ask me :)
Now I just need to make it through the next 3 months as I get larger and larger in the brutal heat of DC!! Whew. The good news is that we are members of the gym that has an outdoor swimming pool 2 blocks away and I can go swimming a lot. I swam a lot in Germany and that seemed to help with my sore back- yet another fun aspect of pregnancy as I'm sure all of you know- so hopefully it will keep me mostly pain free and from sweating to death.
Oh yeah, and the other thing we need to do is to prepare. We are completely unprepared. I don't think travelling all the time is compatible with being organized for an impending baby. We have no crib, we haven't visited the hospital, we haven't taken any birthing or baby classes, we haven't done anything. We do have a good amount of baby clothes thanks to our friends. If not for them, I would be mostly naked and so would our kid after coming out.
Okay it's time to take more decongestants. I hope all are well.

Thank goodness for friends! A snotty , stuffed up, naked, pregnant woman would not be a pretty sight! LOL You poor thing! I am so glad that you don't have to travel anymore! You know how I feel about it. :( I'd much rather have you in brutal heat in DC than half way around the world anytime! Take care and try to "baby" that cold. :) Cheryl
