  • Support Groups

    • Close Lupus

Not diagnosed. Now it's "connective tissue disorder" or something autoimmune-related. also have muscle and/or nerve complications.

      Treatments

      Lyrica Working / Worked
Kills the nerve pain/makes me sleep well but much too much/very spacey/have cut dose in half/take only at night
    • Close Fibromyalgia

OK, I guess there really is something to this FM stuff.I also have connective tissue disorder(?).Mostly just tired, depressed, aching alot for 25 yrs or so...

      Treatments

      Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
Love swimming; nearby pool great in the summer; winter pool is harder to get to.
      Cymbalta Not Working
Hated this-totally fatigued and spacey;I know that's not what the studies say but my body says STOP.
      Heat Working / Worked
Warm to hot showers are good;if I get the energy up to change routine I think hot baths would be best.
      Lyrica Working / Worked
Good for peripheral neuropathy in legs & arms but don't like what it does to the brain. I'll continue to take a small dose when needed.
    • Open Insomnia

      Treatments

      Ativan Not Working
Took for yrs; very addicting;refuse to take any more cause I don't need side effects of CNS depressant!
    • Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Have had IBS for many years. See what I take to manage the situation.

      Treatments

      Probiotics Working / Worked
'Fiber Smart' from health food store. It has lots of acidophilus and lactobacillus. Blueberries, especially fresh are great. By eliminating wheat-bran type cereals I've found they are too strong for me-- a big cause of gastric distress. I put fiber smart and 2 Tablespoons flax seed meal in a tall glass of juice/water.
    • Open Environmental Allergies
      Type of allergy: Allergic Rhinitis

Have slightly deviated septum and enlarged turbinates.

      Treatments

      Nasonex Working / Worked
      Nasal Irrigation Working / Worked
Use a netty-pot - think it's called this. Works great when I take time to use it. Best of all, no side effects, no burning of nostrils.
    • Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I have fibromyalgia, but share in some of the exhaustion that CFS people have. Hope I can learn from and relate to some of you fascinating folks.

      Treatments

      Lexapro Working / Worked
Maybe I'll even stick with this one.
