It took me three years to finally get approved for disability for fibro. If your dr. isn't behind you in filing for the disability, find a new doctor because your current one obviously doesn't understand the effects of fibro. Also- very few people only have fibromyalgia. Take inventory of your day to day life experiences. Does the fibro keep you from doing what you normally would, do you see family and friends less, are you feeling depressed because you can't do what you normally did before. Hope this helps.
thanks big hugs.

My symptoms started at 19 years old. I was told I had mitral valve prolapse. From that point on, I was in and out of different doctors trying to get someone to give me an answer. I finally went to a rheumatologist on my own because i felt like I was going crazy. Some doctors told me it was all in my head. I have had multiple tests done and everything was always fine. I am relieved now because I have an answer but am still trying to learn about fibromyalgia.
Ihave been told my neuro i have chronic anxiety. I am still going through some testing right now.
