About Me
i have been misdiagnosed for 10 years...recently i had a extended, severe manic episode and, finally, my p doc diagnosed me with bipolar I disorder. i have been married 23 years (no children). i love to read (british & american classics, virginia woolf, katherine mansfield, the brontes, etc)also love biographies, love to listen to various music, collect books, items on princess diana, vivien leigh, the beatles, etc. i love art & literature. my passion, since i was 16, has been writing poetry.

Close Bipolar Disorder
hello, i had my 1st major breakdown in 1996, since then was misdiagnosed...recently had a severe, extended manic episode for nearly 2 months which led to being diagnosed bipolar I... have been married to michael t. 23 years. am a capricorn. love to write poetry which is very theraputic for me. love making online friends around the world! love reading, impressionist art, photography, nature, cats, walking, and films/dvds!

- helps my depression...
- Abilify Working / Worked
- just started on this...am being weaned off of risperdal and seroquel and also temazepam is added too
- Clonazepam Working / Worked
- have been on clonazepam for a while and it really helps my generalized anxiety disorder!

- just started it a few weeks ago...seems to help lower mania

- lamictal seems to help my mood swings milder.

- love & support of my husband and online friends is essential in my treatment plan toward recovery...LOVE is a reward we share with one another...building self-esteem, hope and a purpose in our chaotic lives!

- Have been in therapy for 10 years...finally have a counselor who opens my eyes to various coping skills and insights into the human journey...it has always helped to talk out my problems...

Close Anxiety
i am 46 years old and had my first mental breakdown with anxiety & bipolar I disorder in 1996...klonopin has been a great help for my anxiety...i have had horrid panic attacks before and times when anxiety had me at a total standstill in fear...right now i am having to deal with problems with my mood disorder....am a part of the bipolar group here and wanted to join this one on anxiety...everyone here is so supportive and caring! love ... dolores

- this med seems to be a miracle for me and GAD!

- the first med i was on...did not help my anxiety or depression...

Type: Loss of a Relativei lost all of my immediate family thru deaths between 1986 - 2000, except for one older brother, danny...the deaths combined with mental illness and suicide attempts have darkened my life in many ways...but i feel i have comfort to give others in the light of the tears i have shed...

hello...my name is dolores and i have been on DS for over a year in bipolar community...this week i was diagnosed with emphysema and am still in shock...am going to quit smoking and take chantix med for it starting tonight...i am upset about the diagnosis and am trying to do what would help me live longer.
