Spending time with my girls. Jazzercise, callanetics, yoga, running (well I try anyway), rock climbing (fake ones) swimming (hey not all of them in a day!). Reading, watching dvds etc etc. I like to keep busy. I would really love a holidy - never had one, too expensive! Childcare costs hurt!

Just Passing, I saw you were from Scotland, so am I. I live in England now. Thought I would just say hello. Tom XXX
Thanks for your message...yes, it does sound like we are in similar situations! And half my heritage is Scottish...my great-grandparents came over to the US from the Orkneys in the early 1900's.
I have heard that Americans tend to have a higher rate of live kidney donors than other parts of the world...would you be waiting for a cadaver donor or trying to find a live donor? Here we are really encouraged to network to find our own donors...a very American way of doing things. I currently have about 10 people being tested and hope one of them will be a match.
Like you, I am otherwise healthy. My heart, lung and liver function are all optimal. I used to be very into fitness but in the last few years I have been so tired, partly due to the HPB meds so I have really slipped and gotten a little fat. Although the doctor assured me I would take the weight off when I get these huge kidneys removed and get some energy back.
Hope you are feeling well and best of luck with your appointment in 2 weeks. Keep in touch!
I'm so glad you are doing well.Exercise is an important thing to do even though we have this disease. I just started to get back on track with diet and exercise. I had a scare 3 weeks ago with my heart and now I'm acting on it. Take care!
Ive known that I have had PKD for 12 years since I was 20. I inherited it from my mom. Im not on dialysis yet but soon very soon.
I have renal failure (PKD) Im not on dialysis yet but an appointment has been made to get a fistula fitted. I will be on dialysis withing the year - I have opted for heamodialysis. My mum hwas on peritoneal at first and due to alot of infections (nearing deaths door) she is now on heamo, not without its problems either, she was third time lucky with a fistula location.
