As life unfolds before me its diversity and sameness both conflict and blend. Recently a mentor and friend of 25 years passed. He was strong, wise and compassionate to all. A man who was always willing to help whenever and wherever someone needed him. He would pass on knowledge to whomever inquired. Family man. Professional. This man was truly a peaceful warrior and everyone will remember him as such. He told me that he had gone through tx twice over a 15 year period and thought it was behind him. But the dragon resurfaced and he required a liver transplant. He received a new liver. After nothing less than an heroic battle, complications overcame. He was 58. I write this story mostly because I needed to, for myself if nothing else. And because Daily Strength affords me a place to be, and it helps. Other than that I would add that this story is unusual, in that surgery is usually positive. So I will stay positive and keep faith in God. I highly recommend the same to everyone.
