I LOVE MY COMPANION ANIMALS!!!! I have two adopted dogs, SUKI the pom/chi & now a new addition MIKO the pom they are my world.......THOR the Malamute (has found a forever home!!!) I enjoy doing artwork...my favorite is pencil sketches (in colors also)..... I love to read on rainy days its when I ache the most & I have to wrap up in a wool blanket to keep the damp out......its simpler to just grab a book & stay indoors. Oh & I love food......good home cooked real FOOD. :)

Well I sure am happy they got you on the plaquinal finally. It is strange they didn't try that first as it supposedly slows down the progression of the disease. Sometimes I wonder about some of our Docs. LOL. Yes we will not mention the S word. lol. I am so happy you are feeling better as I know you have had a rough time. hugs marilyn

Aug 04 I was so sick I could not walk...lift my arms to wash my hair..brush my teeth...all the things that make up daily living were now a very difficult & painful experience. Rounds of Dr. appointments...one specialist after another...trips into Winnipeg to see a different Dr. ... different drugs...still no clear diagnosis...then on Oct 5, 2004 was DX with SLE...MCTD....Sjogren's Syndrome & RA...I could not understand what took them so long to figure out what was wrong
Treatments
- Azathioprine Not Working
- after 10 months of getting worse...the Dr. wanted me on methotrexate instead...but I got myself off the imuran because I was getting worse...ended up with a serious intestinal parasite infection
- Celebrex Not Working
- did absolutely nothing to reduce inflamation or aleviate that pain
- Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
- good as a muscle relaxant but not good for long term usage
- Medrol Not Working
- terrible side effects...itching so bad that I nearly scratched myself raw
- Plaquenil Too Soon to Tell
- Just started on Plaquenil a month ago....wait & see I suppose...hair is falling out more and extremely itchy all over....back to being moody too
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Have used Pred for rescue when a bad flare hits
- Talking Working / Worked
- talking about lupus helps to get the word out about this disorder...just mite be able to learn something new from someone else
- Vioxx Not Working
- This was taken off the shelves in Canada..........too many life threatening & life ending results

I was abused at the age of 4 by who was supposed to be a trusted family member.......sick people in this world......then Mar 14 last year I had a break-in/home invasion/sexual assult w/weapon......I am convinced that there are too many freaks out there & not enough circuses

September 3, 2007 Blake...my little brother died from a cocaine overdose...he died 3 months before his 42nd bday...I miss him terribly........to add to this dysfunctional family......my 65yr old mother has a serious gambling addiction

Recently DX with Hypothyroidism....not sure bout all this medical stuff but from what I have read about the endocrine system & all the symptoms that I have had over the past 10 years (maybe even longer) I am beginning to wonder if the Lupus/MCTD & RA DX is even RIGHT!!!!!
