"Spring Transitions" (PA)
Posted on 03/30/09, 08:44 pm
During the season of cold white dormancy
Each winter day I've embraced
Sometimes with the children sled and play
Or sit quietly before the warm hearth of grace
With an attitude of gratitude for simple beauty bequeathed
Breathe His Spirit and pray before going on my way...
Deep dark winter nights dwindled away
Dawn of a new day; earth from it's sleep awakes
Morning rays graze my window sills
Sun beams over vaprous hills
Steam rises from melting traces of snow
As I go puddles along the road gleam
Above blue skies and clouds reflect a sheen
Birds perched everywhere sing a sweet sound
About spring bursting out all around
Bubbling brooks gurgle here and there
Olive green ground lay raw & bare
A scent of blossoms fills the mild air
Sleepy animals stir from their burrows
Flowers poke up out of furrows
Daffodills bob their heads in the warm breeze
Yellow forsythia bloom on rolling hills
Weeping willow trees spread wispy limbs of green leaves
That boarder banks of creeks snaking through green valleys
White lilies and wild flowers dot the fields, peaceful & serene
Easter's just around the bend
We sing Alleluya and the message send
Jesus Christ is risen and lives again!
Our hearts yield to God's love thus revealed!
