Keeping in Touch ~ Monday, 9th November, 2009

Hello

Well it seems that we have already started to set records with the temperatures this year -
and it is not even officially summer yet so I hate to think what it will be like when summer does arrive.
Today it was clear and sunny and just over 90'.
I detest hot weather.
The good news is that my feet are not bad and while they are a bit sore from the OA - there is a slight change coming on Wednesday - there is not swelling from the heat so it looks like the diuretic is really working very well.
The other good news is that even with the increase in meds things have settled down and I have not problems apart from a little flushing - but I think we women can cope with that and thins is really mild by compaison to the menopausal flushes.

A friend on here was asking me a few days ago if we had been using the pool yet - which we hadn't.
Today DH started pumping the water out of the solar water heaters into the pool and it had the first use for the season. It was cool, very cool but as I was feeling very hot and sweaty I really enjoyed it. Only did a bit over 100 metres today but it is the first day and as I said the water was quite cold and I didn't want to risk getting cramps.

Those of you who were around last summer know how much I love the pool, water and swimming and after over seven months without being able to use it that is wonderful and I feel so good being able to swim and get some good exercise at last.
Next year I hope that we can use it a bit more during the winter - it is only a matter of working out how to theat the water and then getting the money to do it.

Judy I am glad that you have a day off and can get that last mow in without having to do it on a weekend. We have one more to do unless we get a large amount of rain and growth. Fire season is arriving soon and we need to keep the grass down as much as we can.
I know that AVG never caught anything for me and now with Avast I have had three Trojans caught.
Makes me wonder how much got through with AVG. And add to that the nearly 2,000 spy and ad ware it really did make a huge difference to my computer when It was cleaned out of all that stuff.
Good to hear that your new programs are going to catch things and keep your computer safe.

Susan glad that you liked to hear about all the birds. DH is kinda mumbling about making a blind so that we can get photographs of them - but there is always so much to do ................
Hope that you enjoyed your afternoons and dinner at your sisters -
Always good to get out of the house for a while

Rhea you sound busy as always - but sounds like you had a great day.
Guess it is good and bad news about your sister. But hopefully now that she has some idea of waht is wrong they can treat her and she will recover her health again. Maybe she will be joining you in the 5K runs nest year when she is better.
Sorry that your son's team came bottom in the touch football - but good that he enjoyed it so much.
Please try not to overdo it while the kids are gone - I know you will work your butt off as usual..........LOL
The banquet and then the cook-out sound great - we will al be right over to join you........

Barb great to see you. It is nice to have those days off and you certainly sound like you and hubby are well into getting things prepared and ready for winter.
Enjoy your time off as well as catching up on things that need to be done.
Yes the birds are wonderful to watch - and funny too at times.

A great day here today even though I did not get Leah bathed - plenty of warm days coming in which I can do that.
Have a Marvellous Monday everyone, and smile - Just the image of me in the pool should help you do that today.

Loving hugs, Marg

    Hi Marg....and all!

Well my sister just called and she will be coming to the doctor tomorrow instead........ she caught that nasty flu bug from us.....we thought none of us was contagious anymore but somehow she got it. I had washed the door knobs and used sanitizer on them and cleaned the bathroom too...plus we all stayed outside all day....but this stuff is sooooo easy to catch I guess!

Well the grands are here today.....they now are only going on the weekends to their dads! Well that is good and not so good but I am happy they are now going to be able to go to daycare and pre school too for the two older ones.Got all the paperwork done for their healthcare and daycare too! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Well got to go take care of them plus run a few errands!

Hope all have a fantastic day.....and Marg....do not enjoy that pool too much or I will be visiting you!
I never got to use mine this year....but already got plans to do it next year!

    Have a super lovely day!
    Love Rhea

Late reporting due to having to leave early for lab work. Same thing tomorrow, I have a 7:40 am doctor appt. I guess the doctor's office tried to call the house while I was at work and left a message to call about my test results, I pretty much figured it wasn't good (cholesterol numbers). But, it can wait until I go tomorrow. I am not worried about it.

I've been feeling a little bit loopy, probably for taking my meds on an empty stomach this morning. I'll give the muscle relaxer another day or so.

On another note, I may not be able to mow on my day off, Wednesday. We are going to start getting some rain and wind starting tonight. It's coming from the Hurricane Ida coming out of the Gulf of Mexico. I heard Alabama was hit pretty hard with 10 inches of rain. I hope and pray the residents are safe. We are expecting to get some flooding too.

I hope everyone has a good day.
    Love to all,
    Judy

Welcome
