I am sooo sorry I didn't make it back yesterday. I came home totally exhausted. I just could not fathom sitting at the computer. My back muscles were bothering me. Anyways I did go to the neurologist. I am scheduled for the nerve conduction test on Nov. 19th. Other than that, he told me about some other line of drugs he could use to give me some relief, such as Lyrica. I have only heard bad about it and I really do not want to add more drugs to what I take. I told him I take the muscle relaxer and ibuprofen only when needed. He told me to take it daily, and not wait for the pain. Other than that, we discussed the horrible cramping I get in my right foot and I told him a podiatrist said it was a neuroma. He checked it and feels my problems is more muscle related. It really bothers me to drive pressing on the accelerator and brake. He is suggesting botox injections. I am really not too sure about that. But it has to be pre approved by your insurance company because one injection costs $900.00. YIKES!!! I think I'd rather just accept it as it is and get on with my life. Looking forward to getting this nerve conduction test done.. this is giving him a base line where my muscles are. Though yesterday he did say I have a lot of strength. Enough of that.
My sister came over while I was working and photographed all the collectibles she could of my dad's to organize them on a spread sheet and e-mail it to all our brothers... see who wants what.
Thank goodness it's Friday.
Back to work... catch up with you all soon.
I hope everyone has a good day... keep smiling.
Love,
Judy

Good morning everyone
OK I will have to make this quick as I have run out of time - completely.
It is a lovely sunny day here and is warming up nicely though it will be hot in a couple more days sadly.
My foot is not too bad though so I think that that it might have been my body adjusting to the increase in the dose along with the heat and the arthritis as well
We will see how it is as the temperature rises.
Had our first fire for the season in the general area. Not anywhere near us though we could see the smoke. It was a small grass fire and it was deemed safe very quickly.
Rhea I do hope that you can get the grands into day-care so that you have some time for yourselves - sleep too maybe? And good luck with the training for the 5K run.
Susan I am glad that you are feeling a little better.
Just take things one small step at a time and hopefully things will all turn around for you and the family too.
Well that has to be a record - a very short KiT. LOL
Last day of the working week - Fantastic Friday to you all and keep on smiling.
Loving hugs, Marg

Hi Marg and Judy!
Hope the foot just gets better and better Marg!
Judy so sorry you are having so much problems with your body not being nice to you! My doctor told me after my injury that it was staying inflamed because I was not taking it often enough for it to heal right so I was prolonging my pain! When I decided I would try it her way and take it twice a day for a while I found my pain and mobility came back...maybe you too need to use it regularly for a while so your body can heal right! It takes time! Longer than we want but so worth it! I was always worried about taking anything long term but decided it was time to get out of my funk that pain can put you in! It can sap every desire for living out of a person.....do not undersell its power!
Now I am so glad I finally did as she said.....alll those months of living with the unbelievable pain was senseless!
Susan.....I so hope you get better.....soon! I miss all your long detailed accounts of your life! LOL! Helps me to have someone else going thru the crud I am too! LOL!
You accomplish so much everyday.....I am so proud of you and very pleased we are friends!
Miss you Dixie, Royce, Eve, and Max too! Hope you all DO NOT HAVE THIS NASTY STUFF GOING AROUND....JUST KNOW WE MISS YOU AND WISH YOU WELL AND A WONDERFUL DAY!
I AM BETTER...CAN YOU TELL? LOL!....IT IS STILL LINGERING SOME....... BUT WITH MY ALLERGY MEDS....... I AM DOING MUCH BETTER!
Love you all!
Love Rhea

Oh Judy,. botox for your foot? I would be hesitant. It will paralyze the foot muscles because that is was botulism toxin (bo-tox) does (for the faces of movie stars to rid them of wrinkles...arrrggghhhh). And Lyrica, have you seen the commercials? It is kinda' scary. read up on everything and make an informed decision. I have thought of Lyrica for the OA but I'm not willing to take the risks. I'm sorry..you need to do whatever feels right and I should not be so negative but these are serious drugs and the side effects are a huge consideration.
Marg, glad the weather has been pleasant and so relieved to know the fire was/is not a threat. Good that the foot is not so bad. Hope it continues to improve. Do mention it to the doctor next time regardless. BTW, thank you for arraanging the daily thought transfer.
Rhea, hope everything settles some for you when the kids begin pre-school. It helps, believe me...just a little peace and quiet. When Melody comes home though she is exhausted and has to have a nap. Sometimes she is so overly tired it easily becomes a meltdown. But next year she will be in kindergarten and Stat will be in pre-school and hopefully we can have a real good routine.
Well, I am feeling some better emotionally. I posted another comment on my journal for any who are following the latest ongoing saga concerning my son and DIL> Ya know, I stay here at home, trying to do the right things and minding my own business and I still get flack for not being who my kids think I should be. I am going to ask them for a list of criteria to meet their high standard of what a parent/grandparent is required to do in order to make their kids happy. Of course, I did not realize that their happiness was so dependent on my ass-kissing abilities. You know, I always though happiness was this inner thing...something you got from loving life and finding good and beauty in things...not something that resulted from tearing other's down and making them feel like crap for not meeting the needs of adults who are seeking to blame their problems on everyone but themselves...not to mention seeking happiness it in "things' instead of love and living gratefully.
Ok, off my soap box now. Back to the mundane. :) Good day and Happy Friiiiiiiday to all. Love and big hugs, Susan

Well I do drop in and read this stuff every day but Hathani usually prefers to see as little of me as possible -
even though I make her laugh - or so she says.
Maybe she is jealous? -

Dear Spinmelody, I take Botox injections to my major neck muscles every 3 months (so I can move my head after an accident). My head does not flop around. It takes a skilled neurologist to inject the specific muscles to allow for movement and decrease muscle spasm. I had to see several until I found the right one at the U of Oregon medical center and then I was able to find one closer to home. Botox injections to the forehead target one muscle--and in tiny amounts. Comparing cosmetic Botox and medicinal Botox are like comparing apples and microwave ovens. Judy should stick to what her doctors advise her to do. People like us who are not privy to doing exams or having access to her medical history (even if some of us have medical educations) can't be much help. Not trying to be mean. Just tryint to put things in perspective. hugs, sara -

Thank you for enlightening me Sara. You are right. My apologies to Judy and my regards to you and your knowledge on such matters as well. Once again, my opinionated response was simply that. -
