I purchased this book based on a recommendation, but have not it to give you a personal recommendation:

    Self Esteem Companion Patrick Fanning

Ditto (one of the 15 by my bed:

Recreating Yourself - Building Self Esteem Through Imaging and Self-Hypnosis

My therapist is big on this book, but it is more on trauma healing then SE. I am not sure it applies for your particular situation but she feels that you can not build self esteem with out processing and healing your trauma wounds (not saying you have any!!!):

Waking the Tiger by Peter Levine

I wonder how many of us that have this addiction don't have trauma? One thing I'm beginning to learn is that we are raised by flawed, human beings. Imperfect, by nature. And thus, there can be quite a lot of trauma, but we tend to minimize it, even if it was horrific. We tend to minimize it in favor of others' trauma which we decide was much worse than ours (invalidating ourselves).

I'm just learning so much from all of you ladies, and I wanted to say thank you all so much for posting your stories and your feelings.... because without seeing it in others, I honestly think that sometimes we are blinded to our own selves. We can heal, and fellowship is one of the most lucrative ways of all in terms of the final product: US, HEALTHY US.
