New to weight watchers.

Hello everyone!
My name is Ashley, im 22 and I weigh 200 lbs and im 5'3", I have just gone to my first weight watchers meeting last night. I have put on a significant amount of weight due to getting very sick last year and getting a blood clot in my lung due to the birth control pill yaz. My dr has asked me to loose 40 lbs, however I would like to loose much more, but 40 lbs is my first goal. I am not new to Daily strength, but new to this group!
I have one question...
Does weight watchers really work?
I have yo yo dieted for years as I have always been a little over weight, however over this last year I have packed on a lot of weight so I no longer just need to loose 20 lbs!

yes -- weight watchers work, but u have to be committed to the program ..... u cannot be too hard on urself --- I have lost 40 (lbs) last year 2008.... became a lifetime member ....but i gained 20 lbs back = I ate couple pack of **PIROUETTE**/ WEEK .... yeah the ** french vanilla wafers** ..... and stop attending my Saturday meeting, although membership was free .... as a yo-yo dieter myself its was hard for me ...... but the leader kept saying, 'u have to eat in order to lose weight' and if u watch what u eat 75% of the time u will lose weight.... the only thing i hate @ WW is that scale --- but i weight in once a month --- i'm a lifetime member
