There are a few things that you can do. They may be hard at first but once you get used to doing it, it's not that bad. Try eating the correct portion of foods look at the package for serving sizes. For meat it should be the size of a deck of cards. Fruits and vegetables 1/2 c. serving size or a medium piece of fruit (fist sized). I have lost 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks for doing this alone.
Use a smaller plate it fools your brain that you have more then you actually have.
Divide your plate in 1/2 and fill the one half with Veggies. Divide the remaing 1/2 in 1/2 (or 1/4 of the plate)1/4 protein and 1/4 carbs.
Eat 6 small meals a day you should not go more then 3 hours with out eating this keeps your engines burning more efficiently.
Try to stuff yourself with fruits and veggies there are not alot of calories plus their a good source of nutrients.
This is some stuff that I have learned IF you would like more info let me know I'll forward you some info that I got for myself.

Eating too much

I have a problem with eating too much at one setting. Usually I wont eat but one meal a day and I know that is not good for me either. I was wondering if any of you have the same problem and what you do about it. I really need suggestions and ideas to stop this problem.

Thanks Mickey, I'm gonna try these and hopefully they will work. it's hard when I'm on the vessel though, i don't get to go down and eat when I should and usually end up eating right before I lay down. Kinda sucks and I try to not do this if I have a choice, but those are few and far between : (.
