Weekly Check In Week Ending June 7th

Time for the weekly check-in!! This is a new strategy we’re trying to incorporate into the routine for weight loss buddies! Post below how your week went, how you helped your buddy and how your buddy helped you and your total weight loss.


Next:
We, the founder and the admins, challenge you to send your buddy 7 hugs this week!

Now, pick at least 3 things below that you’d like to challenge yourself to do for the week. I like making my challenges into goals on DS. It makes me more accountable. If I complete the goal/challenge, then I move on to different/more challenges for the next week. If I don’t complete the challenge, I can work on it more for the next week.

Drink 10 extra oz of water per day each day this week

Eat three new (to you) veggies or three new (to you) fruits this week.

Park further away than you normally would at a store, doctor’s office, work, etc.

Make one healthy lifestyle change this week.

No adding salt to any food for one whole day.

No caffeine for one whole day.

Take your dog (Or just yourself) for a 30 minute walk (at least) one time every day .

Try mindful eating for 2 days in a row

Pick 3 from this list and let us know in this thread what you’re going to try to complete. Also make sure your buddy knows so they can help you with the goal.

Next, we have something else new. This idea was first done by keliya and nyranger. JoyceMarilyn came to me with the idea to do one for our group. It is a weight loss spreadsheet tracker. Follow the link, look for your name and add what your weight was at the beginning of the week, what your weight is now and what your loss/gain is. We’ll do this every check in.

We will check back in on the 14th. That is when you can report how you did on your challenges!

1.) Total weight loss for you this week (do not include your buddies weight loss).
2.) Goals and challenges that you completed this week and how that makes you feel.
3.) How you are doing with your buddy. (If you’re having major problems or lack of communication message Purple4, JoyceMarilyn, GettingbacktoLaura or Rosebaby for help).
4.) 3 goals from the list that you’re going to try to complete for this week.

And then go to the link to report your weight.

Remember to communicate with your buddy through hugs, messages and commenting on their journals. And don’t forget your challenge from us—hug your buddy at least 7 times this week! Good luck this week!

    1.) Total weight loss for you this week (do not include your buddies weight loss).
    I started at 140 and when I weighed in at TOPS on Thursday I was 239.6. So I lost .4 pounds so far this week.

    2.) Goals and challenges that you completed this week and how that makes you feel.
    I completed my goal of drinking 32 or more ounces of water this week. It makes me feel empowered and more motivated to keep increasing my water intake. Plus, Joyce says I'll start seeing the pounds come off as I drink more water!! I did not complete my goal of eating breakfast every day this week. I will try again this coming week.

    3.) How you are doing with your buddy.
    My buddy and I are doing fabulously!

    4.) 3 goals from the list that you're going to try to complete for this week.
    I am going to try to drink 10 ounces more water a day--so I will try to drink 74 ounces of water a day.
    I will also try to walk my dog for 30 minutes every day.
    Lastly, I will try to park farther away when I go to work, go shopping, etc.

    1.) Total weight loss: .8# for week 1

    2.) Goals and challenges: My goal was to get my fiber intake up to 25 grams a day. Happy to report I made that goal. Yeah ME

    3.) My Buddy is Kathy253 and we are getting along super great.

    4.) 3 goals: Extra 10 oz water, Park further when shopping, no added salt for one day!

    1.) Total weight loss: Big Fat ZERO for week 1.....BUT I didn't gain anything coming off the cabbage diet - weight 152

    2.) Goals and challenges: Control Mr Butt after cabbage diet. Succeeded:)

    3.) My Buddy is jhm and we are getting along great.

    4.) 3 goals: Lose at least 2 pounds, get to Y at least 3 days a week, get out in the sun (vitamin d)

    1.) Total weight loss: 4 pounds! Started at 178 and down to 174!
    2.) Goals and Challenges: I've been sticking with the Slim Fast Shakes and eating super healthy, lots of veggies, hardly any meat and ZERO red meat, and I've been drinking a ton of water every day, usually around 60 oz.
    3.) My buddy is Agirllostwithin. We've only been able to speek once because she is momentarilly without internet access.
    4.) 3 goals: Walk the dog 30 min/day, No adding salt to my food, park further from the store when shopping.

    Debbear---I start May 31st at 140 pounds. I weigh in on Thursdays because I go to a group weight loss organization called TOPS. When I weighed in there I was 139.6. So my weight loss was minimal, almost 1/2 a pound. Now does it make sense?

    Also Deb--you have to pick 3 goals from the ones listed. (No salt for one day, walk your dog 30 minutes each day, etc. look above).

    This info is from Texasreb. She knew she was going to be away this weekend, so she sent me the info to add.

    My start weight for today is 174.5, that is down from last Sunday's weigh in by 1/2 pound.

    My three goals will be:
    1. Go for a 30 minute walk everyday.
    2. Eat mindful for two days in a row.
    3. Make one healthy lifestyle change.

    My buddy and I shared a lot of diet and exercise tips. We also realized that we are both struggling with injuries. We've shared our experiences on how we are dealing with our injuries. We've offered each other encouragement to keep going and keep trying even when we don't fee like it. My diet buddy is Zecilkl

    I didn't have any goals and challenges this week except to work on treating my injuries by going to the doctor and buying the correct footwear and scheduling future appointments.

    I will have her add her 3 goals when she gets back later this week.

    my buddy texasreb and i are doing good...

    my three goals...
    1. walk 30 min a day
    2. Try mindfull eating for 2 days...(i assume that means counting calories and making sure you are eating health?)
    3) adding no salt to my food..(that means after you have cooked it or are you including when cooking????

    Z--I would say adding no salt at all. I stopped using salt when cooking and I have to say it's not that bad, really! There is a post from Dawn about mindful eating, you might need to dig through the threads to get it, but it's there.

    1. I am down approx 2 lbs for the week thanks to you guys. I can't remember my exact weight at the beginning, but I think that is about right.

    2. I completed the week of doing a food journal YEAH!!, but there was a few days that I don't think I got all of my water down.

    3. My buddy and I need to work on communication. I am going to send her a hug every day this week and hopefully that will help.

    4. I will drink 10 more ounces of water each day, walk around my driveway at least one time a day (unless the pain is to severe), do mindful eating for 2 days.

Let's group together and be weight loss buddies! Every month I will match up two people and they will be weight loss buddies for each other for that month. Hopefully, we can motivate each other and lose weight together!
