just getting started with weight training

Hello. I have always done something but not really weight training. I am familiar with pilates and with ab workouts with the ball (the big one cant remember what its called) also I have done some curls with weights but thats about all I know how to do. What do you suggest? I go to a gym (at my school) and I do cardio and work out my legs those are really the only things I am comfortable with. Is getting a personal trainer worth it? (through the school it is only a little over 10 a session)

sorry I wasnt clear. I only know enough things to do like 15 minutes worth of weight training. Cardio I do a minimum of 30 minutes but usually do 60 minutes. -

Most women aren't very strong up top. In addition to the site that Sophie recommended, check bodybuilding.com. They have a section specifically for women and lifting...for whatever you are trying to accomplish. And...10 a session is a STEAL! Take advantage of it while you can. -
