Welcome to the Vulvodynia Support Group!
As you know, there are few conditions that could make a woman more miserable. Symptoms range from pain to burning to a raw feeling in and around the vulva. I had my first experience with this just after I had a hysterectomy. It is not constant in my case, but comes and goes. Sometimes it comes and stays for a long time and sometimes it goes and stays away for a long time, sometimes it comes and goes frequently. There is no known cause or treatment for this, which is somewhat maddening. If a man had this problem, I think some more research might be done on it.
I can tell you that over the years I have found a few things that do help. What helps one person might not help another, but then again, it might! I use grapefruit seed extract when I have the intense buring. It is a natural anti inflamatory and it does seem to help. I drink liquid aloe vera, as well.
When I am in a full on outbreak of misery, I have used some products from a company in Italy called Zuccari. They make a drink called FemCare--it is concentrated and you put it in water.......it has pure aloe vera and cranberry and other soothing herbs in it. I am swearing by this now. I have nothing to do with the company and do not sell this product. Desperation led me to it.
