Aspie Group

There is a group near where I live that is specifically for adults (18 years old and older) with Asperger's Syndrome.

Here's the information, which was taken directly from the Meetup page created by the founder of the social group:

"This is a group for adults (age 18 and up) who either have been diagnosed with, or strongly suspect they have, Asperger's syndrome. This group has two main functions:

"1. We are a place where people with Asperger's can socialize and make friends with other people who share challenges similar to theirs.

"2. We try to do things as a group that will help members further understand Asperger's and/or will help members learn new ways to overcome challenges that they face as a result of their autism-related personality characteristics.

"This is meant to be a member-driven group; I don't consider myself to be in an authority figure or therapist-type role, and I am very much open to any suggestions anyone has. If you have an idea for an activity, a meetup, a new way to run the group, etc. I really want to hear about it. This is an opportunity to take an active role in learning about Asperger's syndrome, and to form relationships with other people on the autism spectrum."

If you're interested and want to find out more about the group (dates, times, etc.), go here:
