Feeling no hope

Posted on 09/09/09, 11:12 am
I relate to everyone's pain. Everyday is such a struggle and I have no real desire for life anymore. There's no light at the end of my tunnel. I've given up on my life and myself.

grogs88, I feel exactly the same way. Today I wrote almost the same thing you did in my journal on Daily Strength. We just have to remember that it's alwaya darkest before the dawn. It will get better and you don't even have to have hope or believe it. Everyone here has enough hope and belief for both of us. You've reached out - now just grab and hold on. I'm here for you and so are many others that understand.

True that, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Do not give up. When i am going through a rough patch in my life i always tell myself that is just a phase and will pass. A bad time in our life is like a season, it will change things do get better. Perhaps you should write down what you value most in your life. Things like your family, friends, the fact that you have a roof over your head, food on the table. That will make you appreciate life more. There are a thousands of people out there who call their streets their home, no access to medical care, no food etc. Take baby steps, do not be hard on yourself. start thinking positive thoughts, buy insipirational books, do what you like to destruct those disturbing thoughts, perhaps watch a comedy, listen to good music. You are special in your own way and you deserve to be happy. Concentrate more on the positive side of life, talk to a counsellor.

Do something about how you feel, it may take time, but that does not really matter. What matters the most is that you are walking away from depression. It can be done. You are greater than depression.
    Wish you well in life.
