Disability Acumulation and lesion load.
http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/msprognosis.html Interesting in early part of disease there are lot of active lesions. The lesion load increases. The frequency of active lesions begins to decline, the lesion load remains constant near end, But the disability goes more sharply upward without the lesion load increasing. All relapses are associated with an active lesion. Not all active lesions are associated with a relapse.
