Reaching out...
Posted on 04/21/12, 11:14 am
Hi,
I've just joined after searching for a friend here. I've attempted suicide a few times. First when I was 14, and the last just before I went to rehab at 36. Just wanted to share a few numbers in the hope that anyone looking in will pick up the phone. For me the burden of pain and suffering felt so great that I lost my ability to cope and will to live. Even though there were people who loved me and who I loved, suicide became a very real option for me. I never really thought how it would affect those around me. After I lost a friend last year to suicide and looking back at my own attempts, I can see it would not have been fair to those who care about me and it would leave them feeling like they could and should have seen it coming and done something.
There are people that care about you and you don't want to leave them with this. There's people here at DS that care about you. Please reach out and call a hotline today. Suicide is one secret that needs to be out, and it needs to be addressed immediately. Please reach out. I truly believe the one thing that will save a human life is another human life. There is always help. Suicide is not the solution.
