Fake it till you make it

So I was in a live group chat tonight. The topic: Thinking positively.

I have worked so hard at this for YEARS! My life experiences keep me from thinking positively. I just can't "re-frame" these thoughts - I have nothing to go on. I guess I have to focus on the occasional things that do go right.

And I am a whole lot better about this than I ever was!

When I am at a loss of the things that go right in my life, I turn to nature I look to the trees How do they survive those winters and come back so beautiful green in the spring. The grass The same as the trees. The tulips that are of the first to poke their heads up with the daffodils and some others after a brutal winter. Since winter is coming I know it's not long before what I've been talking about is just a few short months away. God has given us evergreens to keep us some color all year 'round. I'm grateful today for what God has given me and for what God has taken away. For then I so, much more appreciate what is left. Tom

When I feel like not being positive...I let myself get the negative feelings out mf my system. It's a little unrealistic not to have a knee jerk reaction to things. But, then, I sit back and look at all of the good things in my life. In spite of illness, I really do have a great life. Like my ststus says...obsacles are the pesky little things we see when we take our eyes off of our goals!
