Here's my Random 10:
1. Don't Change/Inxs - I love this song...great lyrics...it's just a real fell good kind of song
2. Shut Your Eyes/Snow Patrol - This song has a great throwback feel to it, like groovy 60's ish while being current...course it's not so current now, it's a couple of years old now, but you get what I mean
3. Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)/Melanie - It's a classic, and yet I could totally see Duffy remaking this and it feeling brand new
4. World Where You Live/Crowded House - One of my favorite 80's bands, one of my favorite songs of theirs...Neil Finn is awesome.
5. Drinkin' Me Lonely/Chris Young - A rare country track for me. I happen to love Chris Young though...A Nashville Star winner; this was his original song showcased on the show
6. Trouble/Coldplay - One of my top ten favorite songs of all time. Absolutely love it.
7. Everbody's Changing/Keane - A fantastic band. And a one time anthem for me.
8. You Can Close Your Eyes/James Taylor - My mom turned me on to this song...it was one of her faves when she was a teen. First heard it when going through my parents' album collection.
9. Lost In Space/Aimee Mann - She makes some great moody songs. Ever feel lousy and want to hear music to match that mood? Listen to her.
10. Everybody Wants To Rule The World/Tears For Fears - Another favorite 80's band of mine (I have many). Undeniablly great 80's song.

Random Toughts - What's On Your Ipod?
Posted on 03/01/09, 11:55 pm
Just another something for fun, to get us talking and comparing and such...
I personally do not even own an Ipod (I know in this day and age it seems like it would be a crime to not have one, like not having a cell phone or something!)but I do have a media player on my computer here so I am going to treat that as my Ipod for the sake of my own post here...
I thought we could pull up a random smapling of songs that we have on our various players (Ipod, MP3 player, Windows Media Player, Real Player, what have you), say 10 songs...and give some notes as to why you have it, like it, some little tidbit that explains its meaning to you or whatever.
Want to shuffle?

Oh bless, TPF! What a mean thing to do, stealing your MP3 player!
I also don't have an iPod. I did have one, but I didn't like it so I sold it on and bought myself a £15 jobby from Argos, which is much, much better. I've updated my playlist list today, so can give you the new run down. Basically, since all of our CDs are still in storage I have a limited selection available on my laptop, so have picked out all of the fun, noisy songs that make me sing along badly and loudly. I plan to put these choons in my ears while I go for a little walk.
Actually, I'm going to do it in the style of the other game we've got going. I'm going to post the first lines and see whether anyone can guess what they are!
1. Walking through the terminal I saw something beautiful
2. Sci-fi stars in the postcard skies
3. Waiting in a room, all dressed up and bound and gagged
4. This was never the way I planned, not my intention
5. Ladies you're damn right, you can't read a man's mind
6. I was not looking for arty farty love
7. Why don't you fool me, feed me, say you need me?
8. I could be ten but then again, I can't remember half an hour since a quarter to four
9. Beautiful girl, lovely dress
10. I'm in the business of misery
11. Daddy told me look into the future, sit at your computer, be a good girl
12. It's been one week since you looked at me
13. Yeah it's still the same, can't you feel the pain?
14. If there's someone you can live without then do so
15. Shut up and let me go, this hurts I tell you so
16. Your eyes tell me how you want me
17. Virginia was a lot lizard from FLA
18. You change your mind like a girl changes clothes
TPF should definitely get a few of those... -

Why lyao? Excellent guessing there though, all correct so far. I'll give you a hint for number 12 - the name is somewhere in the first line... -

12 is One Week...
I got the two Katy perry songs and the Ting Tings but I have no clue on the rest. Just makes me wonder what kind of stuff you've got on the other side of the pond that we never get to hear over here. American radio is not very varied in its musical selections sadly. There was this one station I knew of around where I used to live that would play rare stuff, b sides, artists that otherwise wouldn't be heard anywhere (and it wasn't even a college radio station which seems to be the only place that usually happens!)but where I am now the pickings are slim.
For the record, I don't have an Ipod either and am glad to see I'm not the only one in the world without! My list was comprised soley from my Media Player on the computer. I made it tell me what I listen to most on the weekdays and that's what it told me. -

do you have anything like spotify over there tes?
It's basically an online radio where you can listen to pretty much any album from any artist. (there are a few missing off there) but you would be able to listen to some UK delights for free :) or even youtube Girls aloud....they rock!!!! :D -

It's true - Girls Aloud are spectacularly cheesy. Great for those poppy, sunny afternoon walks!
A couple of them are American rock groups, and I'd be amazed if you haven't heard of them. One of them is from an artist TPF's already guessed...
And number 8 is particularly hard. It's one of my favourite songs, and I've listened to it about a million times, but I still got a surprise when I looked up the lyric because it's so hard to hear! Just in case you're not familiar with it, this is a video that everyone should see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5... -
