    Hi Rodney,
I would like very much to learn the "Bob Ross" style of painting. I'm busy trying to repair my 60 year old home alone right now. My being disabled makes doing the work alone very difficult and some of the work will just need to stay on hold until someone wants to help a bit. I guess my biggest artistic expression at this time is my garden. There are so many textures, colors it is just so amazing. That combined with all the fresh fruits, veggies along with the nuts is just wonderful. I no longer eat meats or dairy.

Bob Ross was my inspiration to even begin to upgrade from just drawing with color pencil and doing watercolors. I'm starting to get pretty good at that style, and also in using oil paint in the traditional method of painting. It seems we have another hobby in common. This year, I have enjoyed learning how to garden. I used a small area behind the house and have gotten some pretty good results. It's pretty exciting watching the plants grow and develop. I have a large backyard and have decided to fence off half of it to be used strictly as a garden next year. I have already started mapping out how I want it to be with brick pathways and maybe a decorative water fountain. I too am disabled and retired and sometimes have difficulty getting around. However, I still enjoy life and meeting new people. I am glad you are aboard and I hope we become friends, Rodney

Thank you, Rodney. Arts/crafts and gardening heal the soul. This world has become so CRAZY anymore that we need to bring as much healing into our lives as possible. I'm in Stockton, California. Where are you from? I have never been outside of California. I am in my 50's now and I guess I just never saw any reason to leave the state. I've never been on an airplane but would love to one day go up in a hot air balloon over some of the "non concrete" areas that are still left around here. I miss the farming community the was it was years ago. However, Lodi is now growing into a wine tasting region much like Napa. They have had a try with turning the old part of downtown Lodi into having many antique shops. Many of the ones I liked are now already out of business so it must be a difficult area to begin this venture. I thought it was a swell idea. Gave the old downtown a comfortable feel. Here in Stockton we are just plain growing - more and more concrete. We should be focused on making more "villages" where people work, live and play. Too much commuting going on where the people in the stores and around about are from out of the area much of the time. We need to work at making neighborhood communities again. I don't know about where you live but here the neighborhoods seem to have all new people living in them every few years. A few people are starting to stay put longer and it is very nice to see. If they stay long enough we may actually be able to get to know each other. Now that's a novel concept LOL 8-)
