Welcome to The 5 pound Club! As our group goal states, this group was created to help us support and encourage each other in our weight loss goal of 5 pounds per month. For some members this may not be such a modest goal, but for those of us who are obese, 5 pounds is a modest goal. This group will help us to become accountable for our eating habits and exercise goals -- or lack thereof. :)

 

I've started a discussion about www.sparkpeople.com. I encourage all members of this group to join Spark People, as there is a tracker there which will allow you to monitor your eating habits, caloric intake, fat intake, etc. It is 100% free.

 

While it is not necessary to post your daily foods eaten, it might be helpful to post your actual caloric and fat intake, compared to your actual goals for the day. If you need specific advice on what you can change, feel free to post your food intake for the day to get advice from others.

 

Other than that -- support each other, try to enjoy the process of weight loss and remember to hold yourself accountable!!

This is an open-ended group for people who want to set a modest, but healthy, goal of losing 5 pounds per month. 5 pound doesn't sound like much, if you are obese -- but think about it! 5 pounds per month means 60 pounds per year, 120 pounds in 2 years, 180 pounds in 3 years, etc. Size doesn't matter. We welcome anyone who is attempting to make a healthy weight loss! We will offer each other support, advice and accountability. We do not welcome negativity or "flaming"
