Vote for your favorite Haiku by leaving a comment on one of the 10 entries on the voting page!

Thank you everyone for your spectacular Haikus. There were so many deep thoughts, therapeutic releases, creative metaphors, and relaxing scenes painted within these small poems. It was difficult, but we went through each one and picked 10 to put to a vote and posted them on the voting page. We wish we could fill this page with every one that we loved, but it would have gone on forever!

To vote, just click here and leave a comment for the Haiku that you like the best. At the end of the week, we will send the most voted-for contributor a free special edition DailyStrength Summer Haiku T-Shirt with their entry on it.

How to Enter the Summer Haiku Contest

Posted by TeamDS - 08/01/11, 12:35 pm

A Haiku is a poem that consists of only three lines. The first line is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables, and the third line is 5 syllables. Here is an example:

A summer Haiku
Can relax the mind fully
Like watching sunset

But don't worry about the exact format. If it is Haiku-like, and it expresses how you feel, we want to hear it!

To enter, join the member group and start a discussion with your Haiku. During the last week of August, we will review every single entry and put 10 of them to a vote. At the end of the month, we will send the most voted-for contributor a free special edition DailyStrength Summer Haiku T-Shirt with their entry on it.
