Sorry to hear about that, let us know all about it later when you feel like talking.
Hope the surgery goes OK for your mum (and for that matter I also hope Tonya's back pain is easing off now - I think you mentioned something about that in the Halloween post.)

Going through some grief/loss, sadness. I'll check in for messages, but the winds just aren't in the sails for me. I'd rather be honest with you all than try to fake it and set a bad example of self-care.
Oh, mom's surgery will be next Friday. Not sure I can go home for her, but my sister will. The kids are good (Cedar is recovering from a nasty flu), me and Tonya are just fantastic as always. Thanks for all the support!

Praying for your mom's surgery. Praying for Tanya's back. Praying for you as you go through all the junk you've been going through in the last year.
I'm really glad you aren't faking it. We care about you, Matt. -

Based on your interview and a few things I've read between the lines on various posts, it sounds like you are going through a lot of transition. Empathizing and putting other people's suffering into words takes a lot of energy. That's true even if you are a survivor, I can't imagine what it takes if you are not. It sounds like you need to take some of that energy and turn it inward to guide yourself through this time.

I will be praying for your Mom that her surgery and recovery go smoothly. I hate to hear that Cedar had the Flu. Poor little guy! Take care of yourself! Butterfinger Crisps, yum! I pray things will get better! -

Recently, every member of my family except me has had a BAD flu. I've been extra-careful, wearing a face mask (even though the medical advice is that the infected person should be the one wearing the mask, not the caregiver), doing tons of laundry and scouring surfaces, sleeping on the couch, and taking frequent doses of high-potency oregno oil (awesome stuff; wipes out just about any bacteria, virus, or parasite...google it).
I'm feeling emotionally much better (status improved). Talked with mom, and she's not too nervous about her heart surgery on friday. She has to get a mesh put into a valve, but the surgeon has done this about a thousand times. Mom will be hospitalized for a week, but prognosis is good. It won't "fix" all her ailments, but will help quite a bit.
Thanks, everyone, for all the outpouring of support. I never take it for granted, and I certainly don't forget the kindness shown to me.
Welcome
