RIP John Updike!

He passed on today. Later this year his sequel to The Witches of Eastwick ... Widows of Eastwick is due to come out. We have lost a wonderful author this day...

Yes, but he lived a good life and left us much good work. When I was an undergraduate one of my professors in the English Department was a friend of Updike's. Once in awhile the two of them would be walking around campus. This was a small state school in Ohio so it seemed especially odd. Just a couple of buddies hanging out. They were both a bit boarish though LOL.
I first found Updike in the ninth or tenth grade. I learned a lot about relationships and sex from reading his novels and couldn't believe that they had all of them in the school library.
