I am currrently on seroquel. I do not like what it is doing to my body. Weightgain, hunger cravings, rashes, waking up many times thru-out the night to want to eat and do. I cannot go on with buying bigger and bigger clothes. Also, my hair is thinning. Everyone tells me to stop fighting the medication and try and be happy and not worry but when I have these side effects how can I not be bothered with the medicine? I have been on many meds since diagnosed in the 80's and the hairloss, hypothyroid, weightgain AHHHHH! What is actually a safe med without hairloss or weightgain? I know of none. -

Weight gain is inevitable on most of the meds we have to choose from. The only one that I found is weight neutral, meaning it won't make you gain weight, is Topomax. I was on it for a short time but found my memory was terrible and I would get little minispasms in my lips, face, and feet while I was on it. It isn't for everyone, but you could maybe try it. Good luck! -

most of you know I just got out of the hosp. before I went in I was on 300mg welbutrin, 300mg serzone.... since I was in the hosp, the added geodon (sp?) and lamictal. the geodon kept me zombified and I couldnt wake up.... it made me shakey and lethargic for the entire day leaving me without enrgy. so a week into my stay they decided to take me off of it and the wellbutrin and put me on prozac. so hopefully with in a few days I can say I have a magical cocktail (lamictal, prozac and serzone and occasionally ativan and ambien) as well. I do feel better since I have been off the geodon BLAH!!. -

I'm glad to hear that you got your meds straightened out. That is so important. Are you keeping a mood diary? I found a really good online one at www.moodtracker.com
It's free unless you sign up for the pay version. I use the free one and its just as good IMO. Best wishes! -

I need to get off of seroquel 400mgs.at night I take. My cholesterol has gone up along with the weightgain. I am thoroughly disgusted! Tomorrow I have a pdoc's appointment and hope to taper off of seroquel. I don't know what other medication I can take but will try whatever to lose weight and get the cholesterol down. I am currently taking neurontin for fibromayaglia. Anyone who can remark on this I will appreciate it very much. -
