Hi Ana....I am new to DS Wt. loss(1week) I weighed this morning for the first time and charted it on my goal page. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, so I have hope to drop 30 pounds. I am a retired kindergarten teacher. I was so active for 25 years that once I stopped running after little ones, the weight crept up slowly. Also when one is home, it is easier to snack. I want to get hold of this now and reading all the postive posts have helped so much. Thank you. Now let us all MOVE MORE and EAT LESS.

Since signing up for this Challenge my eating has been worse. I exercise, read motivational material and then give in. AarrrgH!
    But I'm posting honestly.

Well...I have been doing great with the exercise. The weekend was nonstop. Preparation on Friday for a wedding, Saturday the actual wedding in the mountains, and then Father's Day on Sunday. I weighed in this morning and I have actually gained a pound. But I am not too worried about it, I have been walking and doing yoga with a new DVD...so perhaps it is muscle or water...either way, if I continue doing the right things good things will happen. So I refuse to allow one little pound to take me from my happy place! Challenge On!

first, sorry, guys, i was in a hurry this morning when i posted, its actually DAY 8!! in order for me to fix it, i would have to delete it, and the all your wonderful posts would be lost to. so....its really DAY 8!!

jaks~ you are more then welcome! apperantly, i dont know what day it is either! hahahaha!! must have the summertime blues!! hahahaha!! i hope you get a chance to find some more time for yourself! i understand that feeling! =D

caneygirl~ what a wonderful proffesion you have retired from!! having a daughter who is 3 and running the nursery at my church, i totally understand what you mean about using a ton of energy running after kids!! =D also, that was one of the biggest challenges i face when i decided it was time to loose weight, the snacking! hahaha! but so far, 6 months later, i think i have go a pretty good handle on it. its all a learning and growing process!! you can do this and you will!!! keep up the great work! when i finish up here, i will pop over to your page and check it out!! =D

bubblesdavey~ honesty is ALWAYS the best policy. especially when you are trying to learn a new lifestyle. we have spent a long time lying to ourselves and spending our time in self denial. so admiting you are having a rough time, is the best thing you can do!! i am proud of you for getting active! that in itself is great!! and the motivtional material will provide the inspiration you need! so this week mabey try to keep a food journal. then you can see exactly what you are eating! i used to suprise myself when i first started keeping one. i never realized all the calories i was putting in my body! now i writed down EVERYTHING!! including BLT's (bites, licks, and tastes, these could add up to and easy 1500 cal all by them selves!!). you can do it! =D we are all here right behind you!! dont give up!!!!=D

lucinda~ wow what a busy weekend, i know the feeling. all my weekends end up like that!! haha! i am so excited about your exercising! and you mind set about the 1 pound is awesome! sometimes its so easy to focus on that, that you can loose sight of what you are doing and what you have accomplished!! also, i recomend keeping a food journal, they are an invaluble asset to anyones success in loosing weight and getting healthy!! yes good things are definatly going to happen for you!! great job!!!

well, have a great day all, and i will be back soon to check in and write my update! i have to go workout before my daughter takes her nap!! =D keep staying strong!!

I'm trying to get started again after a backward slide. It's not easy as I am not getting support on the home front. I'm actually getting some disparaging remarks from my hub.. who is slim .. and just doesn't understand the struggle I'm experiencing. To make matters worse, one of my lovable dogs kept me up most of the night. She has a hot spot that needed immediate attention. So, I'm tired. On the positive side, I stuck to a healthy, small meals diet. :) I'm not giving up... just regrouping. Hope all's well with ya'll.

Sorry for my late post ...

Jaks ~ LOVE that you are making time for YOU!!! No one deserves it more!

Caneygirl ~ THRILLED to have you here! Absolutely Love your POSITIVE attitude! It will serve you well!

BubblesDavey ~ Thank you for your honesty - it is always the best! How can we help if we don't know what you're truly feeling. Are you able to pinpoint what area is causing the difficulty? Food? (How has the eating been worse?) Exercise? Motivation? All of the above? Personally, I found that many times when I faced the "arrrggghhh" and had difficulty ... it was due to underlying emotions. Figuring out what was wrong was the first step needed to implement a plan to fix it. Please let me know if I can help. YOU CAN DO THIS and all of us are here to uphold you. Please tell us more ...

Lucinda ~ You are positive, pumped up and determined ... and squarely have sight of your goals! Yeah YOU!!!

Battle ~ The fact that you are posting the issues and trying to get started shows your determination to be kind to yourself and persevere. Sometimes those closest to us simply do not understand the struggles we face or what it feels like to face them. The remarks can be unkind and hurtful and I'm sorry you are experiencing them. Take heart in the fact that in spite of them, you have successfully eaten healthy small meals, not given up and are regrouping. Your inner strength and commitment to yourself is inspiring! Keep up the great work .. it will serve you well!
