I just wanted to start some discussions on topics I thought might be helpful. I by no means have answers...

But please feel free to make comments or add your own discussions.

I was online last night and found an adoption websight www.adopthelp.com that really caught my eye. Just thought I would share it/

I just added it to our news section. It's a bit overwhelming when you type adoption into a search website and come up with tons of sites...

I went on line, overwhelmed myself with a wealth of information (enough to make me dangerous LOL), and ended up scheduling an appointment with an adoption lawyer to sort things out! It was the best $150.00 I ever spent during this process. She gave us answers and a ton of reassurances on concerns we had! This is what finally pushed us to turn an application in and not feel so anxious about it! :)

I am researching myself the route to do my adoption. I don't know if it's better to go with a lawyer the whole way or an agency. I live in NY. And I have an appt. with a lawyer this week for $250.00 and hopefully, it'll satisfy my heart that this is the way to go. But I've spoken to someone at the head of Adoptions from the Heart and she answered all my questions on the phone and spent alot of time with me. I felt comfortable with her too. So I dont' know what's the best route to take in this journey> HELP

Babe, it's what ever you can tolerate. If you go private, you have to be able to screen all of your own b-moms. If you go through the adoption agency, they will do it all for you. I think the reason we chose to go through the agency is for support. We've met some wonderful people through CC's program. The small groups have helped us move on with infertility and bad feelings. It was nice to know that we were not alone even with as alone as we felt. With private adoption, you don't get that extra support of those that share your anxieties. I thought it was kind of dumb because I had support on line, but in person has nothing to be compaired with; it's the best.
Good luck on your journey. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to ask questions that I may be able to answer from our own experience. HUGS.

Hi Everyone, I am just getting started. We are pursuing two lines of adoption: Embryo Adoption and International Adoption.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Oh, I forgot to give some background. I am 43 and did IVF with my eggs last year and then IVF with donor eggs in February. I miscarried twins. I was totally devastated but slowly am getting back to being my old self. I have new hope with the adoption possibilities!

Welcome
