Prayer for Peace

I received this request and am posting it for your info. & prayers :

Dear People,

As some of you might have read in the news, there has been violence in
the Old City of Jerusalem this week that has actually prompted the US
State Department to advise US Citizens to avoid it. There have also
been disturbances in other parts of East Jerusalem and in some of the
Palestinian cities in the West Bank.

One PA official has already said that this could be the start of a 3rd
Intifada, a long series of riots, terror attacks and general
disturbances that had a devastating effect on Israel in the late '80's
and early years of this decade.

Tomorrow morning there will be Friday morning prayers in the Muslim
mosques and several of the radical imams have already called for
Friday to be a "day of rage" which could lead to more violence.

At the heart of these current troubles is a rumor that has spread like
wildfire among the Palestinians that "the Jews" are trying to take
over the Temple Mount, the site of the Second Temple 2,000 years ago
and currently the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock.

This is a topic which I could write a book about (as others already
have) but for the moment it's sufficient to say that we're in a very
dangerous situation.

So I'm asking all of you to pray like you've never prayed before that
tomorrow morning passes quietly, that the Muslims don't go on a
rampage of violence, and that calm prevails. Pray that the evil forces
at work in the spiritual realm that are egging people on to violence
be bound in silence, and that a spirit of peace and calm prevails
instead.

Please pass this request on to other people who pray, and God bless you all.

Psalm 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Shalu Shalom Yerushalayim!

Welcome
