BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

Posted by rogerledwards - 05/06/09, 04:37 pm
Dear Lisa,

For 35 years I have sought God asking to put me back it the Ministry. It was not until 5 years ago when I went on SSD and had all the time in the world that two things happened to me that changed my life. At this time in my life I did not pray much or even read the Bible much.

1. I was laying in bed ready to go to sleep. I had said a short prayer and then I closed my eyes to go to sleep. I did not realize that my mind became still. No thoughts. My mind was completely still. Then I began to actually feel the presence of God in my room. For those few minutes I knew I was on Holy ground. The power of God's presence filled my room and me. I could feel it and I knew it was God. Oh, the power and love of God filling my soul. I did not see anything. I did not hear anything. I did not say anything. My mind was still. I just laid there in my bed. Complete quite. I was still and I knew God. I am in no way a charismatic. But this was real. I felt the presence and power of God all around me. I could not speak even if I wanted to. Then it was gone. I have not had another experience like that since. Why? I do not know. I just cherish those 2 or 3 minutes of being still before God.

2. I was in counseling with my Pastor about everything from Christian Ministry and my mental problems. We talked about could God possibly use me? He said you have a great opportunity to become was is call a prayer warrior. Before I left he gave me a book on prayer. I read it. I had to know more and I purchased several books on prayer.

That was 5 years ago. It was not until I got on ds that I realized that God had answered my prayers of 35 years. God had put me back into the Ministry. The Ministry of sharing my story of James and his death to those in grief and those who needed encouragement. Also I try to encourage those who depressed by sharing my complete story and try to give out the Gospel to all.

There is one frustrating pion. When I go to counseling; the counselor does not know the pain and agony I feel. Oh, if we could find people who had or has depression and was a counselor, how much greater the counselor could help and lead us.

Take Care

Your Brother in Christ.

The WORD

Posted by TalithaCumi - 04/03/09, 10:46 am

In the beginning was The Word
And The Word came down to men
Clothed in a body
God prepared to die for sin
Full of Grace and Truth
He walked upon this sod
He was very much a man
Yet the full measure of God

He spoke about the Kingdom
He had come to represent
He pointed to the prophesies
To prove He had been sent
Some accepted what He preached
Supportive of His claim
Others laughed and mocked Him
Believed Him quite insane

But He was The Word
Come down to earth
And He spoke The Word
To bring about His very birth
As strange as it may seem
His own death He prophesied
To give sinful man eternal life
He let Himself be crucified

No, men didn't take His life
He so humbly laid it down
But He raised it up just as He said
Death couldn't keep Him bound
You see, The Word was spoken
That The Word was to survive
Now back at the Throne of God
The Word is very much alive

Jesus was The Word
Come down to earth
God came in the flesh
To offer all of us new birth
This was and is the Greatest News
This world has ever heard
If we want to reach The Father
We'll reach Him through The Word

"How Much Are You Worth?"

Posted by TalithaCumi - 04/03/09, 09:23 am

"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:20   Do you know what determines the value of something?  It's the price that one is willing to pay for it.  If there is something that I really want badly, and deem as valuable, I will pay the asking price- it doesn't matter how much it cost.  I might have to make some sacrifices in order to purchase it, but I will make them because I consider that thing worth it.  Why am I willing to do without something else in order to have this thing?  Why am I willing to spend everything I have for it?  Because it's something of great value to me.  On the other hand if it isn't something that I consider valuable, I won't care if I have it or not.  Therefore, I am not willing to pay whatever the asking price is for it.    Did you know that you are valuable?  Do you know just how valuable you are?  Do you know that you are priceless?  Do you realize you are the most valuable thing in the universe?  God is the one who determined the value of your life and He is the one who determined that you are priceless.  He loves you and set His affection on you.  He loved you so much He had to have you for His own but in order to "have you" He had to "buy you" out of the slavery of sin.  The price was high- very high- but He was willing to pay it because He valued you that highly, and wanted you that badly.    When I get a chance to listen to the news I hear monetary numbers like "billions" and "trillions" (I am not sure I can count that high), that's a lot of money.  But those figures don't even begin to come close to the price that was paid for you.  You were purchased with the blood of Jesus.  Purchased with blood not silver, not gold, not precious jewels.  That blood was not the blood of animals, angels or some other person.  The blood that purchased you was that of the only begotten Son of God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.  The Son of God Himself paid the price for you with His own blood.  Why?  Because He loved you so much and placed a high value on you and was willing to pay that price and make the sacrifice to have you.  (1 Peter 1:18,19)    Have a great day.  The God of heaven was willing to pay the highest price that could be paid in order to have you... you are that valuable to Him.   <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><
