Problem of prayer
Posted by clutter - 12/11/08, 09:12 amI have always had a...um...unique prayer life. Because of my OCD, I used to think prayer had to look a certain way and sound a certain way. But I've discovered that God listens no matter how I pray and in fact seems to respond more openly when I'm open and honest myself. So, my prayers aren't always all that "reverent." Sometimes, but now always.
I think God hears our prayers. God doesn't always give us what we want and sometimes the process can be an incredibly trying, faith challenging business. Honestly, what's it going to take? At least that's the way I see it. Problem is, God sees things differently and sometimes I have to accept that and just keep going.
I've learned not to put my eggs in the basket of the comfortable God or the kindly gentleman God or the strict task master God. When I can take aim well enough, I toss mine into the hands of the God who seems to me to be more of an irrational lover than a predictable dictator.
But whatever your view, post your prayer. Who knows, maybe God is online.

I would like to ask God to pray for all of us in our time of need, whether it be health, jobs or just needing a little help. Lord forgive us for not always paying attention to you. God bless us all, in Jesus name amen. sharon Merry Christ's birthday to everyone.
