med queation

I've heard that some women only take their prescribed medication for PMDD during the PMDD cycle. Does anyone know if this is safe? I would think it wouldn't be a good idea to only take something for a week or so every month cuz the toll it would take on your mind and body. I mean aren't you supposed to be consistent with meds to get results?

That's exactly what I do, and it is totally safe. At first I thought same as you. Also, my husband is a therapist and I know that when people take anti-depressants for other things, you have to take them for a whole month before they kick-in really well. And then you don't dare stop taking them. So when my OB/GYN said I could just take Lexapro for 1/2 the month, I was like, "Yeah, sure, riiiiiiight."

But it WORKS!!! at least for me it does. And it works beautifully, and thank goodness -- as expensive as drugs are, it's nice to be able to save some.
